Thank you - glad you liked! 🙏We like to mix things up a bit to keep the channel fresh and with our theme of International month, we had to include some Indian stories. We are back to Eiurope and Norh America next week!😉
I've heard of the Persian Capital Punishment story!! As I listened to the gruesome details, shivers went up my spine!! YIKES!!😰😰😱😱 I really enjoyed this slightly exotic episode of Frightful Fridays, Robin!! Variety really IS the Spice Of Life!! 👏👍💙💞💕❤
@@newsofthetimes The Raj is SOOOOOO fascinating!! I visited the Royal Palace of Mysore many years ago, and found it VERY interesting and BEAUTIFUL!! Could you please cover other stories from our colonial past?! For example, in the state of Sarawak where I was born, which is now part of Malaysia, one of the British governors was assassinated by a local lad called Rosli Dhobi, who was later hung for his crime!! Now, there is a monument in Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, commemorating what Dhobi did, and hailing him as a martyr for freedom!!
@@nadiabrook7871 You are so kind! we think, though, you are in the minority - the episode is doing poorly, sadly 😔. Wow - YOU sound like you have had an interesting life! Our researcher lived in Indonesia for 5 years and visited Malysia (of course) in the early 1990's. Lovely lovely people. Just beautiful. Bali, in Indonesia, is truly the centre of the world. The case you outline sounds really interesting! We will take a look! This month is planned out for our International theme. Murder stories coming up this week from France (good one this - filled with the French high drama and complicated relationships), new zealand, and a juicy one from the America. We will take a look at the case you outline and see what we can do!😉
@@newsofthetimes Thanks, Robin!! Indonesia and Malaysia are neighbours, and have much in common, including a similar language. I wish I had visited Indonesia, especially beautiful Bali!!❤
He murdered his wife because she was raped. I'd like to say times have changed, but this sort of thing still happens to women from certain cultures that little value a woman's freedom.
Yes, rather apalling. Drugged and outraged and she was apologising. And HIS parents set her up. 😔 As we said, the case is still remembered to this day. Thartb is us done with Asia this month, we are back to Europse and North America next week!🛩️
Oh thank you! 🙏On the whole, we can see our listeners are not interested in India nor prussia! So we will probably not be covering this area of the world again. Thank you so very much for your kind support - much appreciated!🙌
That last case, what a terrible method of execution! I'm quite upset about it. I've always been a great admirer of Mahatma Ghandi, thankyou for including a little of his history
ugh - did we??? Sorry about that! We knew we had stupidly written it in the script (we sometimes have a few stories on the go at the same time), but thought we had fixed it. Never mind.... We are back to Euurope and North America next week. It had been ages since we covered a Raj story - they are not popular. It was such a large part of Britian for so long - 200 years - possible we view it in a different way. We think it is interesting the commonality of the themes - love triangles, albeit slightly different, and greed. Humans are humans wherever they are - sometimes showing their best qualities and sometimes not. 😔
@@newsofthetimes I don't mind Raj tales. They certainly are, um.... extra. As to your small gaff, 'tis nothing. You're entitled to the occasional mistake just like the rest of us. You're doing a great job. Always looking forward to what you have in store! Cheers!
