Is there gold, is there gold in Kabul? I've been there in a nest of snakes I've been there as a blackout artist Everyone trying to take my place Is there gold? Is there gold? I was there as a midnight watchman I was there for a masquerade I was there as a makeup artist Everyone trying to point the blame Is there gold? Is there gold? I sawed myself in halves I grew myself a pair of hooves You gave to me this gift I love you still Alone I drift Is there gold, gold in Kabul? I've been there in a suicide vest I've been there with the hangman rising Everyone trying to take the piss Is there gold? Is there gold? I sawed myself in halves I grew myself a pair of horns You gave to me this gift I love you still Alone I drift You can walk from there to China From state to reptilian state Holy Americans singing vespers Convinced that they control somebody's fate Is there gold? Is there gold? I sawed myself in halves I grew myself a pair of hooves You gave to me this gift I love you still Alone I drift Is there gold? Is there gold? Is there gold? Is there gold? Is there gold? Is there gold?
If beautifully painful had a voice. Its this man. Granted your gone and certain songs live just dont hit the eay they used to. At least we have the one that you are in. Its better to have that, than not know you at all. For those who know, they know. R.I.P. My good man.
Its the childlike dream that it fades away...an illusion,... Will love put me in my place?..will it be my saving grace?... Now i m going nowhere.. With my torn red heart
I'd say the 90's, not the 80's w/ Mark. I'm a huge fan of 80's music but Mark can take us darker, which, to me, is more of a 90's vibe than 80's when generalizing. Do you know what I mean? Obviously, in the grand scheme, Mark's music is timeless. Difficult to tell when exactly this song was recorded. ~ I watched an interview w/ him last week from around 2010. The person interviewing him complimented him on his voice. You could see that he didn't like being complimented, very humble. But, in answer, he did credit his voice, especially as he was getting older, to his cigarette smoking. I'm sure you can think of other singers who absolutely blew their range because of the habit. But, in that way, Mark's an anomaly. An amazingly wonderful anomaly, who I listen to daily. 🙂
Mark, the world of music is not the same w/o you in it. Thankfully, you left behind an incredible body of work and your two books. I listen to you daily. Your work stands the test of time so wonderfully. Still, you are greatly missed by so many. I hope your beloved Shelley is as okay as she can be after your tragic loss. Respect.
This drugged-out wraite said he had concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic was a "natural event"[86] and admitted, "I was one of those knuckleheads who was wary of the vaccine. But I learned my lesson. I'll be the first one to get a booster shot when it's available in Ireland." Morons don't last long
I always liked Mark Lanegan,he was a humble guy that got some respect as an artist,he was always willing to take chances with his music and the dude was also tough as hell,he was one vocalist u didn't want to F- with,,i miss Mark
