But change in religion for marriage brings in resentment later on as years pass by. I have seen many friends. I am myself Hindu and stay in US. Accept people as they are and love will follow. I guess part of it is also making her parents accept a non muslim partner. It is funny when comments Allah is the greatest. Every religion will claim that.

Salam Farah, Nice to know he converted. But how does it feel to have non-Muslim in laws? Do you think Jag would remain Muslim if your relationship (God-forbid) ends in the future? I am of Pakistani origin but born and raised in Canada to relatively open minded parents. But for the above reasons, my parents would never let me marry someone who just converts for marriage. As many times, when marriages end - the person who converted for marriage - also leaves Islam. Most Muslims would not accept their daughter to marry a person who just converts for marriage. Your parents are open-minded. They don't mind their daughter having non-Muslim in laws and what impact that would have on your children and future generations.
