Copy the "bbeatSysSw.upd" file (downloaded from the manufacturers website) onto a usb stick and insert into the b-beat. The b-beat detects the firmware-file and then gives you the option to install that version whilst displaying the current and USB stick versions
Last few years been buying & selling a ton of modelers, all the big names, and while all are great in their own way, the Kemper is the only one that I end up staring up the speakers after tracking them on playback. The overdrives on a good Kemper have something indescribable to them, like a richness or resonance or something. All of these modelers sound very good today, but those Kemper overdrive captures are really special.
takes various video formats and converts it to its own internal format. Ideally load it with a 1920x1080 image. (check the manual for acceptable formats) as for the maximum length, i do not know. Our longest videos are less than 10mins
@SLATEB0Y Hi, I to am involved with professional touring shows and this looks pretty much like the thing to get. I do have a couple of questions about it that I hope you could help with. When you press play does the playback start immediately? We have to start some of our clicks mid song and tap the play button at the same time as playing the hi hat. Quite a lot of the software ipad players had a short delay (maybe 1/3 to 1/2 a second) and was way too much. Do you know if theres now an option so that the play button ONLY starts the track. If it double fires for whatever reason, it shouldnt do anything else, like skip to the next track. We've been using a denon SD card player, and after years in vans, dust on stage etc, every now and then you press it and the switch isnt debounced properly and it can immediately pause (the denons play button behaviour is play/pause). Similarly with the stop button. IMHO that should also be able to be set to just pause. You can get to next track or restart the track using jog wheel etc. Maybe a second tap to stops ok, but as you pointed out that third tap to exit the show is ridiculous. Has that issue been fixed? Thanks
hi, thanks for your interest. I have always found the unit starts as soon as you press play- no delay. Apparently the new firmware (4.5) starts even quicker (pre-loads videos for this purpose) though i have no complaints with it as it was before. (4.1) The play button can skip to the next track ONLY if you double-tap it. As its a physical button it needs physical-intention to do this, unlike a touch-screen that may easily get double-triggered Regarding the stop button, you have understood. However, if you are in "live mode" you can not exit the setlist. hitting stop once is pause, a second hit rewinds to frame one of the video ready to restart that song. In live mode you can go no further but you can then use the up/down arrows to get the next song and (owing to a bug in the 4.5 firmware) the holding-screen does not appear. We therefore press stop a 3rd time (no using live mode) to exit the playlist and to display our holding-screen image. It only takes a couple of seconds to re-enter the playlist and get the next song running. I think they will fix this very soon though. Please check out my other b-beat videos if you havent done yet. Might answer further questions. Disclaimer: I offer no tec-support and have no affiliation with the company but happy to share my findings and experience with you.
Love the MBeat, actually im on a big Live Band and yesterday just before the Show we had a problem with the power supply. It was turning on but not leaving the Inicial Logo, So no Play, Stop, Playlist, nothing. But still light up and have power. Sundely i tried to put my Powerbank of my phone ant guess what, it works, so for now, 5 months after, the power supply dead on me, not enough power on the Ac adapter i guess. Just ordered another on amazon. Ugreen. But anyway is a good product, to bad the power suply is not stronger. Now i ordered another Mbeat for backup Spare, we never know and also the power supply extra..Cheers and nice video. ;)
Probably you saw FW4.1 was released by PaintAudio that now includes name sync. Nicely played. Being new to Midi Captain etc. I have a puzzle for you that I'd love to see you cover or suggest how I might solve. Let's say I have a Midi Captain Std, a Kemper Player and fx units on my board, a Strymon BigSky mx and a Dig v2. Can I have a button press switch both the rig on the Kemper Player as well as the presets on the Strymon delay and reverb units? Or even how would I reprogram the 2 or 3 button to do that with multiple presses? Thank you.
I’m not Tec support, far from it, you would be better asking the developer. However, I believe it should be possible if you use the usb to the Kemper player and the MIDI-din connector for the other gear. Then send multi MIDI messages on the chosen button but have each device on its own MIDI channel.
Think we’ve sacked off the holding screen for tonight? Letting the venue do that bit via usb/laptop That’s what our MD has said anyways Hope this gets sorted soon..
Note this does not boost the value by +3dB but rather sets the rig-volume value to +3dB therefore the amount of change will be dependant on the initial value. Mine are stored as 0dB by default so there is a +3dB change To set rig volume to +3dB, you will need to send NRPN parameter 513 to value of 10255. This can be achieves with these midi CC commands; CC99=4 CC98=1 CC6=80 CC38=0 if you want to set rig-volume to 0dB send this midi data: CC99=4 CC98=1 CC6=64 CC38=0
I think you have a faulty unit. I’ve got the newest OS and don’t have these issues. Or, any of the other issues youve experienced on previous OS versions.
Not faulty- Having consulted the developers, this latest issue is by design to pre-load videos rather than waiting for the play-button to be pressed. Therefore the first frame of the video is on screen immediately. This makes sense. However, this doesnt suit everyones situation, as described in the video
Not to my knowledge. The Kemper remote uses an ethernet connection which the player does not have. A standard midi controller would be the option with the addition of a USB-to-MIDI adapter, like this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BVFuOkYalKA.htmlsi=r8vKutExvhm70eRj&t=303
Sorry to disappoint you. This was a demo to show the potential of the guitar. If you want to hear the actual guitar you could search for those videos or, better still, play one for real in a music-shop. Similarly you will never really know what the neck and feel is until you try one yourself. This is just one opinion. Many users of this guitar have upgraded pickups so hopefully this demo may help there.
@@SLATEB0Y I can't go to a music-shop that has Jet guitars, so Im going to buy one without having seen and played one. I have watched all the demos on YT :) , so I thank you for your own demo too. Maybe you could have done an A/B comparison with the pickups, anyway thanks again
@@maxduke1943 thanks again for your comments. I should have done a before/after demo but didnt even plan on doing this one. Hopefully you can purchase from a shop where you have the option to return it if its not for you.
the midi out is on a 1/8" jack (no midi in). To control various items you'd be best to have each piece of gear on its own midi channel. The hard task is programming your midi sequence to do all these jobs. You may wish to split your midi rather than run them all in series.
great demo and explanation Slateboy, thanks for taking the time ! Can I ask, where did you find the midi information to modify the rig volume? I recently acquired the Kemper player but the manual only shows a few basic midi parameters / CC numbers! Thanks in advance my friend and keep up the good work :D
Lace single coils are not stacked that was an assumption. They have a unique build and that is what makes them close to noiseless. If you took one part you will be amazed or confused.
Good morning, I would like to know if there is the possibility of expanding the b-beat memory because I work on cruise ships and my repertoire has approximately 600 songs and I realize that I have already added 200 and it is almost at 50% capacity .Thanks
Agree. No idea what the max size SD-card you can use. Not read or seen anyone who has done this yet. Whether there's any side-effects to doing this, i dont know. Let us know if you do successfully use a different SD card
The pickups in this video demo are these- www.temu.com/goods_snapshot.html?goods_id=601099542950605 And this www.temu.com/goods.html?_bg_fs=1&goods_id=601099518218289 Thoughts and comments on that?
It’s a brilliant product. But, these constant buggy updates are just part of it right now, I guess. Mine is actually working fine right now. We will see. 😂
you can downgrade from the current 4.0.3 to 3.5 but whether this recommended or safe i cant comment. Plus make sure your pc/mac manager software matches. Perhaps that's why they have the older version still available on their website? Let us know how you get on?
Was the firmware update process quick/easy? The documentation looks convoluted and there are plenty of people who claim it "bricked/broke" the hardware (completely now useless piece of junk). Can you offer any thoughts on this?
All i can report is that i followed the guide given and it updated ok. Took around 10 minutes (and ive updated twice so far) Its a case of deleting most (not all- we're told to keep the "license" folder intact) of the files on the device and pasting in the new ones, simply a drag-n-drop task as the device appears as an attached external drive. As suggested, make a back-up of the files that come with the device before you do anything else. I used windows 10 so cant comment on the mac.
I haven't done any updating, so can't comment from that point of view. But I did find a document on the PaintAudio website called "MIDI_Captain_Serials_Recovery" which is purportedly info for recovery of a bricked unit. I haven't used the document, so I can't say how effective it is or isn't.
Mine is showing version 3.5.2. Went into B.Beat manager and it says my software is up to date. This thing has me ready to throw it through a wall already. I’m pretty tech savvy and it has me baffled. It will NOT transfer Anything from the manager into the B.Beat. It just spins for hours. Wouldn’t even transfer a jpeg. Mind you, I’m using the WiFi Pen2, which MAY be the cause. I tried side loading files from the USB stick where the pen was. It somewhat worked. I may have a faulty unit.
Get the latest pc/mac manager from website AND put the firmware (available separately on the website) onto a USB stick, put into b-beat and it should detect the new firmware on the usb stick and give you the option to install. Make sure you only have one "bbeatSysSw.upd" file on your usb stick. Hope that helps? PS take care as the older versions are listed as well as the latest.
