I started my daughter at 3 yrs old. Most swim classes are 2 weeks for 45 minutes that I have been a part of, so was she a strong swimmer at the end of those 2 weeks, no. But she had survival skills to get to the edge if she was in danger. She's 6 now, and every summer, she's getting better and stronger. If you have year round access to a pool or even a coach your son would be stronger vs if only swimming 2 weeks and only a handful of times during the summer. Back in the day, i went to the ymca for a month and we came out swimmers. Unfortunately it's not like that now. With that said please get him or both of your babies into some kind of lessons. I just came from a party where a little boy had his mother take off is swim buddies, ran, and jumped right into 6 ft of water. He couldn't swim. Thankfully a parent was in the pool and was able to reach him but watching him silent begin , was awful. That same day his sister had taken off her floaties to use the restroom. Well she forgot she didn't have them on when she cam back and jumped right. She began panicking and another parent grabbed her. There were enough parents and eyes on the kids and the pool but I've seen enough news broadcast of kids drowning and there are people all around and no one sees it.

Ok I need those wraps. I need to check my H‑E‑B . I usually get the wheat, tomato basil or spinach wraps. Also H‑E‑B is the only place here that I can find Siracha or however you spell it.

The earlier the better in my opinion for swimming. For me it is absolutely a life skill you need to know . Also your legs my lady are fantastic. ❤️

I think it's really imperative the earlier the better. Only because if for some reason they are around water and something happens, the lessons really helps little ones to know how to respond in water and save themselves until an adult comes. But if they start early the lessons build on what they have learned. I learned in private lessons. So you may look into lessons held in someones pool. The classes are smaller and less distracting so the kids really learn. Some of the programs will guarantee they will be able to swim.

As a former TX my kids joined neighborhood swim team late Spring/Early Summer. It was great cause they built up muscles and endurance which would last the rest of the summer. It was intense but worth it, and they started pretty young. Plus older swim teammates made great usually life guard certified babysitters for date nights! Learning regulation from the get go, was easier than unlearning bad habits. Check out your local swim team and see about their lessons.

I learned on my own around 6-7 years of age, and I dove into the deep end which at that time where I lived was 9ft. The community lifeguard who I used to help get things ready for the pool to open taught me a few things but apart from that I was a self learner

Long time viewer- thank you for posting such motivating videos. My sons (now 23 and 18) started swim lessons when they were 4 through a community rec program. It was every summer for 2 weeks. Took a few summers, but they learned, with one even becoming a lifeguard at a camp for a season. I think it's very important for them to be exposed and learning swimming at a young age. I never got swim lessons growing up but I wish I had. Prevents drowning and gives children- and when they are teenagers so much confidence and opportunities to do swim activities (pool parties, camp, water parks, going over to a friends who has a pool) knowing they can swim and be safe. Our daughter is 6 now and I started her in lessons at 4 as well. It's definitely worth it!

PS- they need to learn how to turn over onto their back if they fall in, or what to do if they start to go under. Do not be swayed by the idea that kids don't need it. I'm a RN and have sadly taken care of kids who did not know how to swim or got into a pool without an adult. (not trying to scare anyone- just saying, lessons are worth the time).

I think swimming lesson are good but I also think swimming consistently is more important. Growing up i just used our pool and the beach and my dad just taught me and I was very comfortable with it and with him. I noticed for my first 2 kids I started them at 6 years and they enjoyed it but they really learnt more when we taught them. They felt more safe. And now i have a 3 year old and we are just going to teach her ourselves and she wants to learn because she wants be like her older sisters. I hope this helps. I know there is a lot of pressure for parents to ensure their kids can swim as early as possible. I say let the child learn to swim when they are ready to. Then they do no become fearful of it. I think your son is definitely ready for it! BTW i love you content! Thanks for sharing with us.

Ohh you have lots of nice Yeti's, i believe they are made in Texas, my son got me on them, he loves them so now we have become a Yeti family, i have a yellow one but i love the pink and the light green. I love Chase's yellow shorts. Boys clothes are so nice now. Last week were i live it was brutal hot, we have alot of humidity because we are surrounded by all the Great Lakes here in Canada and i only went out when i needed too. I felt so bad for people with no air conditioning. Your necklaces are beautiful, where did you get them. I think getting Chase swim lessons is a great idea because he is loving the water and he feels comfortable, some children are afraid and scream and cry, so go for it i say. The striped knit outfit is so nice, its very retro.

I think chase is a good age to start. My kids are now almost 13 and almost 8. Each kid does pick up the skill at different times. I started at 2 with my first and felt it was a waste. He was more ready at age 5. With my youngest, we did the lessons at 5, but I’d say having a parent in the pool, going consistently, to help work on their swimming did the best for my kids.

We do “swim safety” with our 3 year old just through the school district but the instructor says age 4-5 is the IDEAL age for actual lessons. It also decreases drowning in children for that specific age group.

Hire a college or high school swimmer / student on summer break to go to pool with you and work with both kids. Maybe put a Facebook post out. My fiance's daughter did this a couple of weeks ago with family with 7 kids. So convenient and she told them how much she wanted and they paid her some money that she is using to decorate her dorm, she leaves soon to swim at college. I learned to swim in a neighbor's pool when I was a kid for a college student.

My daughter started swim lessons when she was about 7 months old. (Which was honestly probably too young, but I am very fearful of water so I did not want her to get that trait!) She has done swim off and on since then and she's very comfortable in the water. I would def get your little ones in swim lessons - I think it's a great age to learn especially since Chase is so excited about it! He would probably THRIVE!

My kids started swim lessons at about ages 9,7 and 4 and my four year old (who’s now almost 6) is able to swim in the deep end a bit with no floats. I think it’s very worth it but if you just depend on lessons and they don’t also have time in the water to play/practice outside of lessons they won’t catch on as quickly. I like the combination of lessons and them having water exposure. Total they’ve each had about 20 half hour classes over the two years.

Happily single 42 year old mom here, but my kids ages are 21, 17, 8, all live with me. My 8 year old has special needs and does nothing, which even if he didn’t I wouldn’t give him chores, but my older kids are responsible for their own laundry and bedding and my 21 year old son cleans his own bathroom (if that’s what you want to call it lol I just don’t go in there) and he’s responsible for taking the trash out. My bathroom I clean and share it with my 17 year old daughter and my 8 year old son just uses whichever bathroom he chooses at the time. We all share dish duties, and I do basically everything else myself. I WFH 2 days per week so that’s when the majority gets done.

Hi Amanda . I handle all things inside the home ( cooking , laundry etc ) I absolutely hate cleaning so I do have a cleaning lady come in every other Monday and I tidy up between her cleaning days. My hubby handles everything outside the home , cars, grass, landscaping and if anything needs fixing or breaks inside the home. I hate cleaning/ tidying up the bathrooms .don’t know why but dread it . Laundry , ugh struggle with that .I don’t mind putting them in washer and dryer or even folding , it’s putting those suckers away 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Can you pls tell me why you wear gloves when washing dishes? To keep your polish good? I need to get a pair . Love your videos. ❤

I always did everything house cleaning cooking laundry ect. For 20yrs.. once diagnosed with 2 very painful chronic diseases, the family started helping in house more. I still work full time and I still do 85to90% because I am the one home earlier in evening. Hubby will do dishes each night, hand wash. And each person does own laundry. If I'm not up to cleaning or cooking they will help more

So I don't have little ones but a 13 year old boy. So he has a very strict chore chart that includes dishes a few days a week, sweeping, he vacuums once a week and he cleans his bathroom. He also has been doing his own laundry for years now. The rest of the time is split between my husband and I. I do all of the cooking. We live pretty simply so cleaning really isn't to hard to keep up with when everyone has there time to clean and picks up after themselves. Makes it so not overwhelming.

Hi Amanda, I totally agree about changing our bed sheets once a week, it feels so good, but my kids I usually change it every other week and sometimes every two weeks. We have very similar tasks with duties around the house and husbands duties, the only difference is I also do the check book, can’t really trust him to make a monthly payment 😂. As always love your content. The only thing I notice and I said to myself if I was there with you I would tell you, I would put some shelf’s in the laundry room so you can put all the supplies there and not on top of the dryer. Home Depot or Lowe’s they have really good ones. Just a suggestion. Sending love your way ❤

Congratulations on 65 days without alcohol! That’s amazing! When I was deciding whether I wanted alcohol in my life, the most helpful thing someone said to me was that it’s not how much or how often you drink that matters (or dictates if you have a problem), it’s what happens when you drink. I drank very similarly to you (occasionally, socially), and that really resonated with me. I’ve been sober for almost 14 years now and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!
