I've been painting models for over twenty years and instead of trying to figure out how to push my skills to the dizzying heights of competition level pieces, I have instead been focused on finding the most efficient ways to get good looking and eye catching models on the table as quickly as possible.
Now I have created this channel to share some of the tips and tricks I have picked up with anyone who might be interested. They registered the name colorshift, a industry standard name, in Spain to prevent Vallejo from selling them under that name. They are scum and you should take your business elsewhere.
I seen this video and the one for the robes / capes. - great stuff. do you have more in the works for the rest of the model. the weapons? the gloves / boots? gems? eyes? other stuff?
using the casting stick pit of the rivets is smart, i got a similar product from greenstuffworld and ran into the issue that cutting them off at the tip, makes them fly to oblivion, thats might help
man new GW marines are wierdly cut and put onto the sprues i needed a dead marine pose for a build, ended up taking a mk3 chest, cutting off its legs, removing the crotch+thigh+leg and thigh from a mk6 chestplate, putting the crotch+thigh+leg and thigh onto the mk3 chestplate, removing the lower mk6 leg, putting on the seperate and crotch attatched mk3 legs onto that just to achieve a guy slumped over near death, spent so much time cutting, sawing, snipping, gluing, filling
It seems like they have stopped selling their paints in the US. Not sure what's going on with them, but I'm wondering if their US distributor is having issues or something? As far as alternatives, I'll start searching for some, but if anyone else has some suggestions I'd love to hear them!

For anyone finding this video, the real tricks to these paints are: 0. black primer and gloss black primer over soon to be colour shift parts 1. first coat colour slow over black gloss primer 2. then multiple thick coats 3. treat the colours as subclasses of metal paints 4. they works as well as a highlight and shadow effect if used on top of other metal paints
Beastmen are still considered abhuman as of a few years ago like Ogryn or Ratlings, it's not "old Rogue Trader" canon. Forgeworld put out Gor Half-Horn within recent memory.
Is it just me being annoyed by the designation 'regiments'? What we actually talk about is armies as in the general military designation, not the actual unit designation regiments - I feel that if humanity just fielded 'regiments' the imperium of man would soon be gone... But that's life I guess when people who have no clue about something tries to do something with it: 'ok, Jarvis, humanity's miltary, what do we do?' 'Well, there are regiments...' 'That's bloody brilliant!' Write that down so we can go get a pint or five at the pub.'
Really like the beastmen traitor guard. I loved the penal legion, but I don't think I could ever make myself sit down and do all those chains for a full squad.
Love it! I was getting a ton of comments around how fast I talked, or how hard it was to understand me in my early videos. So I try to slow down now which I think really contributes to the new vibe. The smooth jazz background music also helps lower the energy a bit as well.

Microsol #2 is like gift from the hobby gods themselves. Phenomenal product. I took one of the toilet seat transfers from the vehicle kits earlier today and put it on the shoulder of one of the new terminators so it takes up the entire pauldron, turned out perfect slap a 50:50 matte varnish:water mix on it and they legit look painted on
The thing with the price is you are paying pretty much the same price but Citadel is only 12ml and pro acryl is 22ml, you literally are getting twice as much paint. That alone makes pro acryl more better for your buck. You really want to pay more for less paint when the results are that close?
I have a about a company and a half of astral claws that I have been doing since 2020 or so. I really need to get everything out one day and do a video on them all.
