Great news. So many leaving Diablo 4 after Blizzard stabbed their ARPG players in the back and turned it into group only content for their Gamescom news. Perfect time to get out of the game. Those that have played group finder games know the horrors that are waiting. Lost Ark players know very well how bussing and spending 75% of the time infront of groupfinder waiting - is NOT what gaming is about.

I find it surprising that some people are tripped up about the WASD thing. You can already play POE1 on gamepad, and yeah it's not optimal (mostly landing skills at specific locations is a bit of an issue) it works perfectly fine for most builds. WASD is basically that but you also have a mouse.

The Mercenary class has been revealed long ago. It was the first class where they revealed the AWSD movement system. Like 6 months ago or something. Havn't you kept up with the reveals Samy? ;)

I've been using the Azeron Cyborg for a year now. WASD is bound to the thumb stick so I can move and press 4 keys simultaneously with around 30 keys that are accessible without moving my hand. The Azeron Cyborg is truly game changing compared to a keyboard. Problem with WASD on a keyboard is you're only left with your pinky finger and thumb to press another key while pressing WASD.

The real test for POE2 is if they can uncomplicate the game from the hot mess that is POE1. This will be especially important when it comes to crafting. Currently in POE1, the vast majority of the player base does very minimal crafting or none at all. All end game crafting is done by a small handful of players or player groups. The other ARPGs are not like that. Last Epoch has by far the better crafting system that EVERYONE can use. Even D4's crafting can be done by everyone as well. People get mad when I say this, but POE1 is designed and balanced around the top tier player base. Casuals or new players are never considered in their game design. It has been made clear by GGG that they want to bring POE2 to a wider audience. That means bringing POE2 closer to the other games in the genre. Yes, they are going to have to dumb it down for the casuals and new players. That means crafting has to change. They also need to change defenses in the game. Having 5-8 different layers of defense is just way too complicated for casual and new players. Defenses need to be equally accessible for all character types. If you go with more than 3 layers of defense, you are going to lose people. Currently in POE1, not all defensive layers are easily accessible for every class. I played a Templar which starts upper left on the skill tree. The spell suppression defensive layer is all on the bottom right of the skill tree. Yes, it is possible for me to get evasion gear with skill suppression, but then it makes it real chore to socket all the red and blue gems that I am exclusively using. It is too much of a chore. D4 basically has three required layers, armor, resistances and damage reduction, which are equally accessible to all classes. POE2 is looking really great, so I am hoping that they can bring POE2 to a wider audience. Of course, dumbing the game down will not make the top % POE1 players happy, but hey, POE1 will still be there for them.
