Mike Senna is a skilled prop maker hobbyist who makes a living as a computer programmer. The Southern California droid builder created his first working R2-D2 replica in 2003 because he was looking for a challenge & wanted to bring joy to children. He helps lead an international R2 Builders Club & has filmed numerous tutorials for the club on various aspects of building droids. In 2010, he sought a new challenge as he spent 3 years designing and building two fully functional, remote-controlled WALL-Es which were finished in 2013. In 2014, he began designing and building WALL-E's girlfriend Eve, and in 2015 he designed and built a BB-8 replica. Senna’s R2-D2 has represented Lucasfilm since 2005, in TV shows, commercials & at events such as the 2007 & 2016 Rose Parades, & 2016 Oscars. R2-D2 and BB-8 have been a part of Disney events. Mike makes educational presentations to share how he built his creations and to encourage kids to pursue their education.
Hi Mike, I love watching your videos but I have a special request! I have an old BB8 Spin Master where the batteries just don’t hold a charge anymore. I’m getting Married on May the 4th, and actually planning a Star Wars themed wedding. It it’s possible to do a tutorial on replacing the batteries on both the body and head? I’ve watched both the disassembly but I don’t know how to proceed from there. I would love for my BB8 to walk with me down the aisle. Help me Mike, you’re my only hope! 🥺🙏🏻
Hey man, love your Videos about the spinmaster bb8. I just got one myselft but sadly without the control. Do you know a way to Control it without the Control? Maybe with a Phone or something? Best wishes from germany 😊
what size is that Triangle Screwdriver you made... i don't have the tools to make it, but need to get those screws off! Thanks in advance!!!! Great VIDEO!
By the way I've I've seen a lot of these videos on here about BB-8 and there's only three people you are the top of that list that is so impressive and the videos are so detailed and provide so much more information than anybody can ever think that they could get... Thank you so much because I honestly would be very lost on trying to figure this thing out... Right now I have three of them one works and functions I think pretty well The other two have system error on a constant basis and also the heads don't work they don't turn on for too long one of them and the other one just doesn't turn on..
Hi Mike- is there any way possible that you can have a direct contact information? Or I can give you my email address and maybe if possible I can talk to you about a few issues that I'm having with my three BB-8 spin Masters?
I tried your idea of remote settings with rollar ball to change reaction but nothing happened. Know when i turn on the droid it doesn't respond to controller. Is there some kind of factory reset? Help?
I tried this with mine but nothing happened. I did exactly according to your instructions step by step, even while the video was playing, but nothing happened
