We moved from Wigan UK over 2 years ago and got a green card because I’m a nurse. Exactly the same process for us. It took about 18 months but the wait time varies as I have a friend who is a nurse who is waiting and has been pushed back again, it’s frustrating. I was a nurse recruiter for about 10 years in UK and brought hundreds to the U.S. it is worth it. It’s a great place to live and the opportunities are endless here. Thanks for being transparent about your process. Love your channel.
Happy birthday Katie’s Dad. Lovely mixed vlog. Gosh - that was a bit much of the associate in Macys. They are usually better than that. But it has become so frustrating in Penny’s, Nordstrom and Macys that they have closed down so many of the POS positions to where it is only one per floor…… and as you found out a hunt to find it.
How interesting. I have 3 Targets in my area of Northern California (2 of which are super Targets) and none have such a large food area/selection with hot foods and bakery. Thanks Katie. Gillian

Hooray - what a relief about the private school. Love the downstairs loo. Absolutely with you on the hurricane prepared box, not silly - practical. Over here in California it is earthquake preparedness, and sadly these days, also for wild fires. We had one come close 2 years ago. I now have a list stuck up inside my closet of what to pack, and another list downstairs of what essentials to grab in case of evacuation. I hate bugs… not sure if it is common in Florida but here we pay for a bug service to spray the house foundations to keep ants out. They come every 3 months and since doing it haven’t had an ant inside. Ants can be a big problem our way
Yeh I’m glad I have the hurricane stuff just incase. There is so many weather related problems in the states that it’s best we are all prepared! Yes we also have regular pest control here too but I do still find the odd thing. Thanks for watching xx
Loved this shopping vlog Katie so nice to actually see what’s inside Sam’s club I always wondered lol at home is definitely my kinda shop can’t believe I’ve never been in there. I think sales tax is 6% but don’t quote me on that. I paid 20$ for the Sams club membership but I’ve seen it as low as 14$ so I think they have offers on all the time. I can’t wait for Primark 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I will be there on opening day to vlog it x

I’d be really interested if you could do a vlog (similar to your green card one) about buying a house in Florida; what you’ve learnt, did you get a mortgage and did you have to pay a bigger deposit with no credit history etc. I’d be really interested. 😊

Glad you liked At Home after my recommendation (which I hope you’d spotted). The one I recommended was in Clermont as I didn’t realise there was a closer one for you. Sam’s club looks almost identical to Costco, there’s a new one just down from my sisters house in Clermont. Bless you at the end, the rain is definitely torrential at times in Sunny ☀️ Florida! Xx

Sam’s club’s a bit like Costco. We freeze the croissants and bagels and just reheat in the oven/toaster. There’s way too many to try and get through fresh.😂
That’s a great idea with the croissants although my freezer isn’t massive, I’ve thought about getting a second one for the garage! I do like Sam’s club, but I’ll maybe go during the week next time when it’s not too busy!! Thanks for watching xx

I've never had Indian food well not yet anyway, my son has a partner and her parents are Indian. My son moved in with them and his partners brother and sister just before last Christmas, I am nervous of meeting people and have yet to meet them. My anxiety kicks off when I realise I have to meet them. My favourite Chinese dish is mushroom chow mein as I can't stomach meat. Great vlog ❤ xx
Ooh you will have to try Indian food although it does vary a lot and someone that is Indian probably wouldn’t say what we eat in the UK is even Indian at all haha!! Chinese food is my favorite and I love mushrooms so would love the chow mein 🤤🤤 xx

It's super interesting to have a window into the life of someone who lives there or rather someone who has recently moved there. To see how your settling in and how you're adjusting to certain everyday things. You have also travelled loads and have had some fantastic opportunities, plenty of experiences to share! Your vlog style is very engaging and the content is spot on, showing a good mix of the practical considerations and the fun things to do. The office looks really well. I love watching vlogs on the treadmill too 😍 I’m really not sure about a job, I’m so lucky to not have to work but I also would like a little part time job too. I will have to see how the drop off and pick up goes with school and maybe next year when Zara can maybe come home on her own, I won’t be rushing to get a job yet tho :-) xx

Such a small world. We are coming over for a much longer period next year (I am taking a career break to see what the next steps might look like). The house I am looking at for our stay is minutes away from the Cat Cafe. I’ve been researching the area and it’s pretty decent. I am so excited.
It’s a great area, lots of amenities around there within a few mins. There is a lot on the 27 now so the traffic is pretty heavy but if that doesn’t bother you then a great place to live. The coffee in the cat cafe was one of the best I’ve had while I’ve been here so if you’re a coffee lover then it’s a great little place! Thanks for watching xx
