I’m still interested in it, but clearly if even now with all the people pointing out what can be improved, they dont change anything (and apparentlty thats what is going to happen, based on their comments on the next campaign on gamefound) it’ll be without me, no doubt I dont have time for a clanky game
Quite a list of games. So great that only one disappointed you!! My next convention like event will be in mid-September. I watch it all and you know what, I only played of them... Bullet: And I also like it very much. It was a sleeper hit. I thought it could be fun, and i did enjoy it, and when we played the coop mode against the "boss", i just liked it even more. great game. But here are 4 of your choice I would really like to try: Age of Civilization, Cosmic Frog, Argent - The Consortium (I managed to get a copy last spring, still unplayed), and Life of the Amazonia. And you did intrigued me with Guild master, never really heard anything, good or bad about that one, but now, I'm curious to try it!! Finally, I don't know if this is your monthly review video, since you stated, in another comment that your video was uploading, so I'll share with you what I played in June here! 🙂 In June, I played 45 games of 26 different games. Really starting my 2 adventure groups, my monthly group with Mice & Mystics, second box, we are playing again tomorrow, and the other bi-weekly group, were we are attacking Shadows of Brimstone. The mouse are a bit redundant and don't offer that much options, but the story telling is fun and for a family oriented game, it is not that easy. Shadows of brimstone is starting to look like we will keep playing for many months, we are 3 steady players and have one or 2 players that join us from time to time. After a couple of games, we started the campaign mode and we really like the upgrade trees, for each character. My top games of the months were: - Spirit island: I just love that game. It is now number 3 on my yearly top 100, and I believe it could move up to number 2 when I do my monthly update!! The many optional level to create your games, the choice of spirit, the randomness of the scenarios... It just create a puzzles that we win most of the time, but so many time, barely making it... we play with 2 or 3 players. - Nightfall: This in another deck building from AEG, that's using a ery unique chain mechanism that we love. The more I play this game, the more I want to play it, and the responses from gaming groups have been very good. Simple to explain, and after a couple of turns, you just simply understand. Every time i showed it to new players, up til now, we always played 2 games in a row. - Clank in Space with Apocalypse expansion: i love everything Clank and used to own everything. Sold my original Clank with all extra map to replace it with Catacomb. Although I'm more a Fantasy guy than Scy-fy, adding Apocalypse to Clank makes it the best Clank Combo for me!! And the 3 mosty played games were: - Scout: A very simple card games that charmed all my friends and even work - Bazaar: An old Sid Jackson games from the 70's or 80's. Mostly with my mom, but she just love it. She loves the trading and resource management, similar to century golem that she adores too, but Bazaar, as something special she likes even more. I think it is the 2 way trading. - Cat in the box: Lots of card games lover around me, and that is a success since I discovered it last year!!! Keep up the good work, watch you soon!!
Thank you so much for letting me join in. I had an absolute blast in the first out-of-state con I’ve attended. I ended up buying Expressions there, after playing, then played with my kids on the alternate 6-player rule. We all enjoyed it - sort of the opposite of Hanabi, which we played the next day. I also bought Bullet once I got back home - looking forward to playing that more as well. I still don’t quite understand most of those after hours games we played. No idea how I won. They were fun though! Looking forward to the next time! -Eric

And if you are anti-app you can pick up hardcopy books as a backup for any of the 3 games. They may be a bit pricey at $30 each, but if you want one the campaign seems to be the best place to get them. You miss out on the great voice-overs from the app, but the books let you play "forever" without the app.
Familiar Tales was.my #2 game of.the year the year it came out. Love it That said these games do not compare gameplay wise. However the story is just as strong

I hesitate to compare the two because I've played so much more of Tanares, and experienced pretty much the whole of what that game has to offer. So it of course seems more full and well-rounded. However, I will say that the combat and this one feels a little bit more tactical because it does feel like you have more options if for no other reason because you have more abilities that you have access to.
There are so many styles of coins, one can find a set that will fit you need. Also, many publishers will sell their game's coins as an add-on, which means you can get the coins without getting the game and have tokens for another game that you do play. 😁
I saw a review of this game on another channel. At that time, I had no money to order. Now that you reviewed it. I took another look. This time I have money for games so I ordered it.
this game is so good. I outgrew RDI but still enjoy it on occasion, but this is right up my alley. would love to see scenario packs and character packs.
I got this and initially enjoyed it very much, however after about 6-7 missions it got a bit ‘samey’ and I ended up selling it. The amount of tokens (sheets and sheets) that you keep getting for every new mission was crazy. In the UK it was very pricey as well for a box and contents that is almost entirely cardboard.
Yes Yes! Great game in every aspect. We had a blast playing threw the campaign and didnt find a single negative. The Rules are very easy to get into and slowly grow to keep the gameplay interesting. I really hope there will be new characters and maps for returning backers. Best Game to hit our table in 2023.
OK So since you said you really like "Battle For Greyport", Can you suggest a GOOD tutorial video on this game? I have it and WANT to play it right. Or did you make a tutorial on it?
You're the reason I've got it and I've had a lot of fun with it. Although I haven't been able to let go of the 2 characters I'm playing with to try the others - I just really liked these 2.
Great dungeon crawler. Plays smooth. Needs more heroes and one off scenarios separate from its campaign. Sooo many tokens so get the game trays ready l!
Fantastic game, got it after watching one of your reviews, finished it in about month playing 4 characters solo. You could fail forward by choosing to assume you won anyway. I think there's only two items in the whole game that require anything more than advancing to the next scenario to get.
I really like that it doesn't take itself too seriously. The theme feels light and fun rather than grim dark theme. There are so many grim dark that the theme in this is a great change. Character progression, without spoiling anything, is over all the missions as it should be for a dungeon crawler. I wonder if they could create a way to play one-off missions. It's been a while since I've pulled this out, so I can't remember if that's possible currently. But it'd be neat, once you are done with the campaign to mash the map for mission X with the enemies from mission Y. I'm sure some combinations won't make sense, but it would give some renewed life to the game. That said, I'm still playing through it but have taken a break to try out other games on my shelf of opportunity. Mostly to know if I can get rid of some games to make room. This one is definitely staying and will be played more.

Hard to say. Not enough info yet. I had done 4-5 dives and 3-4 city phases in Tanares by then. W Oralin, only one dive no camp phase and some messing about with random combats I set.
Wow, even the mini preview boxes are on steroids these days. But seriously, thanks for the video and the overview. I found Arena - The Contest and later Tanares to be solid but in no way spectacular games. To me, they were incredibly repetitive and turned stale really quickly. I hope they will have extensive playthrough videos, to demonstrate in-depth the loop and nechanics, at the beginning of the campaign, otherwise I gladly would pass on it. I really like the tokens, less space required and faster setup / tear down and better visual control of the board. If they would come in wood or acrylic, that would be awesome.
pretty sure there is not a plan to offer tokens...but i would love it. I think this game is going to offer one offs if that helps wiuth your concern about repetition.
The only thing I would have wanted for is to have demonic versions of characters (like having their mini in a corrupted form), but for gameplay purposes it's cool to have multiple demons to pick for a character. I'm just a sucker for alternate forms and such. (Though switching to a demon is very close to that.)
@@HungryGamerReviews Yeah... I missed out on Tanares and was feeling it, wanting to jump into a dungeon crawler. Then I saw this one on the horizon... I'm being reeled in for sure. Love the theme and everything. Like, I know this is a different game with its own systems and everything, but if it has a semblance of the cooler tendencies of Tanares and if the rest of the systems work out well, then I am really really excited for this.
Thanks for the preview but frankly this was a lackluster video. It's more a rambling than a preview. Given the high cost and effort that it costed for them to get this to you, I would have expected some more work to go on this video. Maybe you could've shown a complete turn of actual gameplay so that we can get a grasp. Saying that a possible con is that it's gonna take lots of shelf space and money is pretty much saying nothing for this type of product of which most people are already familiar. I really missed some more gaming insight.

For example, King of Average has a complete unboxing etc. I personally do not have any issue with your mini-video, but addressing the comments is the way, not just calling useless a commentary that does not suit you or does not praise your content.

Happy I watched all the videos I was behind on the same day. this game really sound interesting. Its kind of the first game I see that uses the card crafting mechanism from John D. Clair, that I love. On top of that, in a Dungeon Crawl!!! I have Tanares Adventure on my watch list, and now I've added Odalin as well, but i own so many adventure/Dungeon Crawl game, that I have to restrain myself. If I wasn't so excited by Tsukuyumi, I probably would be looking to back that one as well!! We really have to many similar interest. The quibbles you mentioned in most of your video are very small to me, compare to the excitement and experience the game promises! Thanks again, and another title on my watchlist!!!
Wow! You really finish convincing me!!1 I had that game on my watchlist, and I remember why: No dice, asymmetry and the action cards. But, you completed the information so well... i want to play this... You were talking about an upcoming financial campaign for it... Kickstarter? I will keep an eye out. I have nothing in my collection that looks and feel like this. And I'm totally excited by it now. I want to play that!!! I wanted to love root, but my issue with the game is that depending on the faction you choose, you will have longer or shorter turn... And when you play your turn in about a minute, and all other player play their turn in 3 to 5... That makes the game long... The way things work in that one seems to be quite different. And I'm very intrigue with the phase: White, blue, green, red... Wow, this seems very original. Good chance I'm going to back this!! Thanks again!
Always nice to hear about your Monthly experience! And the variety of game you pay. Although we play very different game, there are still some mutual interest and so many gamers around me are so limited by the type of experience they want to try, its good to see I'm not alone!!!! Too bad you haven't played Revive, this is one of my favorite game I discovered last year. Not sure if you already played it, but I really love it. And from the games you're planning to play, Tsukiyumi is one that picked my curiosity. Glad to see you already publish a video about it, which I'll watch next. I don't remember, but I know the first time I heard about it, I putted it on my watch list. And Eclipse is a very good game. Haven't played it in a while, but great fun. On my side, we were planning and did start to play a campaign of Shadows of Brimstone. I'm a bit surprise that right after the first game, the pace is really good. And until now, we can't wait to play again. We are playing every 2 weeks. the 5 most played game on my side were: 12X - Scout: A pretty surprising little card game that we also play at lunch at work (I go to the office once a week). Where cards have 2 value and you have to decide if you take the cards the way they were dealt or you switch sides, and you can't move them around. Great fun. 4X - Thunderstone: Still my favorite deck building game. I own it all, and I'm on a quest to play every card in Thunderstone and Thunderstone Advanced. I have it all (except reprints) including promos. 3X - Elder Sign: When you want to tackle Cthulhu in about 30 minutes. Exact same art and characters than in the second edition, great memories and just fun dice chugging game. 3X - Harmonies: Up until now, my small game discovery of the year. amazing art and production, a mix between Cascadia and Azul, making it better then both of them. 2X - Gizmos: One of my go to game when trying to convert new followers to our hobby. Great quick tableau building, with marbles. if you never tied it, you have to find a second edition copy (firsty edition comes with a cardboard display that is a nightmare). Everything else was played only once during the month. Have a great day!
Yeah revive is amazing, especially w the expansion. I've played brimstone a few times and it's a really good time, so much content though has scared me off. I bounced off Scout, and just recently played Harmonies. Thunderstone is one I've always been curious about. Looks like a great month for you!!!
@@HungryGamerReviews Revive with expansion will be played soon. Yeah, we were a bit unsure about the game play (tons or dice rolling) of Brimstone. But since our 3rd games, the flow, speed and excitement is really good, the character leveling is not that easy but is affected by the group of character and items/artifact you find, as well as the shortcomings or boost you want to give your character. It really gives a feel of a video game talent tree. We are planning to play it for a while. And Thunderstone, for me, is still the best pure deck builder... But I have to say, Aeon's End is getting closer and closer. I also like Thunderstone Quest, it has some great addition, but it also has been made easier, and has bit Iess variety than the previous versions. I play all of them anyway (regular, advanced and Quest). But I have a slight preference to play Advanced (that mix well with the original for so many combinations!!!). Hopefully, you had an amazing June!

I love the universe its presenting, love tableau building and I loved it even more when you said: Sometimes, you want to move the red one space, and you just can't do it!!! And with a couple of extra games to back before the end of the year, like Northgard new expansion... And many I'm still waiting for... I have to be more... strict! Yes, there was some art on their page with the heroes around a campfire and it looked like the character select screen from Diablo 2. I knew I wasn’t the only one! 😂
Hulk mode: "Dont make me angr...corrupted. You wont like me when Im corrupted." 😂 I dont NEED another dungeon crawler, but will be backing this one. Just got Tanares 2nd printing and the sheer amount of content for adventuring is outrageous. It'd take me many years to do just one complete run through. But, Im a sucker for dungeon crawlers and the customization of your heroes abilities intrigues me a lot.
