Never seen anybody smell oysters. , but if your tring to cover the taste of the oyster , that nasty garlic out of a jar will do it , especially as much as they put.😮
I lived on the Gulf Coast for several years and knew several shrimp boat owners and crew members. They told me the hardest thing is fighting with law makers who "adjust" laws to accommodate foreign shrimpers and importers. They give the foreign shrimpers tax breaks and don't hold them to the same standards as American shrimpers. Plus when foreigners are caught breaking the law they just leave the country and come back later. American shrimpers have to stay and face prosecution and stiff fines!
Props to the first guy who popped open an oyster and thought to himself, "Well, I think I'm going to enjoy putting that slimy blob of snot in my mouth and eating it!" All jokes aside, my ex liked 'em raw with lots of Horseradish, but I preferred them deep fried, grilled or in oyster stew.
The Bible says shrimp is not food for mankind, and God forbids us to eat it because it is unclean. Only fish with fins and scales is for food. Read Leviticus chapter 11 and Deuteronomy chapter 14. God will judge everyone who chooses to disregard His commandments. Its time to wake up and seek truth. Time is running out. Shrimp is an abomination! Its no different than eating a dog or a mouse.
I'm about to do a career change to the GC Shrimping industry and I'm excited to quit working in the damn city. I heard the most obnoxious conversation at a Starbucks in downtown Houston and wished nothing more to be in the middle of the Gulf somewhere hahaha! And yes, I know there is no SB out there and that's just fine. :)
Sorry, have been sampling gulf oysters for 50 years hoping that I will one day eat one that compares to an Atlantic coast or tributary oyster. So far very disappointing. Years ago when there was slim pickings in the Chesapeake region we would buy fresh gulf oysters and soak them overnight in our waters to "season" them up. Night and day difference.
@josephbennett728 But have you eaten many from the Chesapeake or from the Atlantic. A lot of people say the Gulf Oysters aren't any good . I have no idea , I can't afford them and don't have access to them unless you buy them in a plastic container usually from the plant in Pass Christian.
