What a wonderful occasion, orca pods joining and having fun together ❤ I had never heard T pod's vocalisation before, really interesting they all sound so different.
Amazing footage. Orca seem to use the boat as a tactic to pin the seal. Well captured. We should always try to keep legal distance but as we saw this was impossible - wow.

Really fascinating behaviors, thank you so much for these uploads! My one piece of feedback for your editing would be to maybe move the title cards up higher or down lower so it doesn't go over the really neat clips you've captured. You might be doing that so people don't steal your footage, though, which I respect. Keep up the great work!
Orcas are endlessly patient in the hunt and exhaust their prey. They avoided getting bitten when they were at it. This is why they seem to play with their play: they are tiring the fight out of it.
The orca by New Zealand do something similar. This pod is mainly known for beaching themselves and dragging the seals back into the water. But, when they're done eating, they will get one more. They'll take it out to sea and begin throwing it around. People that have studied this, believe that it's to practice handling prey. The most notable thing about this to me, is that the orca seem to take great care not to injure the seal while doing this. The orca have been seen protecting these seals from both sharks and other orca. If the seal does get injured, they will go ahead and kill it. If it doesn't, they'll actually push/escort it back to land, very gently.
The orca is like playing with their food but they are really intelligent and sometimes a bit funny imagine laying on the beach and in the distance you see an orca launching a seal into the sky

Transient orcas: The douchebags of the oceans. Seriously though, this footage has got to set the record for longest punt of an animal by an animal. You should send it into Guinness for analysis.
The orcas were having fun terrifying the seal and the seal kept swimming towards the boat 3 times in hope of some type of salvation. U can see the look of desperation and panic in the seal’s eyes almost as if it was begging the people to help somehow. I get a lot of sick pleasure out of watching seals getting tormented by natural predators.
This gives an interesting view to the mind of the Killer Whale and their understanding of their own unique hunting abilities. These whales target larger pinnipeds or cetaceans worth more calories, yet these killer whales approached the situation of a "small meal" with calmness and spent a considerable period of time examining the seal instead of moving on to search and target additional prey.
I remember the day vividly---that seal was tossed up in the air about 80' (24m). Large male orca uses their tail as a catapult or, as I like to say, a rat trap. Instead of swinging upwards towards the sky they swing downwards coming down on top of their prey---really hard. They are incredibly resourceful and one of the smartest animals in the world :)
