We’re excited to share with you the news that Eagle Wing Tours from Victoria, BC, Canada has just won an international award for our many education and outreach activities. (July 14, 2022).
The award was announced this week/this month by the National Marine Educators Association, which represents marine educators from all over the US, Canada and the world.
The 2022 Marine Education Award for Outstanding Organization is for outstanding work and leadership by an organization or business in any aspect of marine education at the local, regional or national level..
This makes us a North American leader in marine education!!!!
Education is at the heart of everything we do at Eagle Wing. We believe education on and off the water is essential to ocean conservation and a more sustainable society.
We are a conservation company that just happens to run whale watching tours.
We educate through the guest experience, community outreach, social media and our website, and by an award-winning floating classroom program that helps thousands of local schoolchildren connect on an emotional level with their big blue back yard.
To date, more than 4,000 local youth have participated in this school program. Our long-term target is 10,000 students a year by 2030.
