You can select multiple songs in Serato and edit the tags in bulk. It will show you a warning before you edit all the tags but you can do it. I edit the GENRE tags like this but you can edit any field you like.
Here is a question even serato hasnt been able to answer. I use an external hard drive from a pc to use it with a mac pro i get a few years old but has a i7 16 gb of ram and 1 tb if ssd, any when i plug my external drive into the mac, the fonds ard super small how can i make them bigger fonts view on a mac? Any ideas would be appreciated as i have not been able to figured this out
Am a serato user and one thing that I think serato could use as part of the software is be able to do a edit track within the software as rekorbox does I saw that in a video once and i thought if serato could do that it would make things easier, the so call clean track sometimes sound odd and not very clean either but being able to edit your way it would be easier to do it your way.
I love that you are open about this subject. Like many DJs that I know say, Most DJs today don't seem as committed as we are to our craft and work ethic. It can feel like the people you want to build connections with in the industry see us as competition or as a threat. That mindset needs to change. Sometimes, it's better to be alone than to surround yourself with the wrong company. In my own career, I am respectful of others and their time. I'm now into my 40s and most people have checked out of nightlife and anything related to DJs. It can be challenging at times.
Thank you for your unfiltered and honest, thoughts and feels. It’s interesting how as DJs we are fueling the party but not necessarily tight with the crowd- unless DJing for friends. Being cool with other DJs and not viewing them as competition is important. We should all keep trying to elevate our game to stay relevant in this age of tech.
I've been taking my wife to gigs and she has been huge in providing moral support, I can relate when you djing all alone not really having anyone you know at a club. Sometimes after the night going home that drive can sometimes have your mind all over, when my wife goes with me we are talking about how it went bad and good so it feels good.
One: appreciate you being vulnerable. It’s not easy to talk about this and how necessary friends and a sense of community is in this niche art, especially since it can be really isolating. I’m glad you’re talking about this because I think having DJ friends and people who understand you and what you do without judgement is incredibly important. It’s easy to feel that in civilian life, no one cares what we do and we’re already treated a way as far as the service industry goes, DJing alone oftentimes makes you (me in this example) used, unappreciated and invisible.
Agree 100%. My issue is none of the DJs that I know on a personal level have the same dedication as me. But I've been making some new connections lately..
I have the same issues with Tidal.. including after updating the system to the new cost, I lost my Playlist which Tidal is now saying the can't retrieve. I will unsubscribe to Tidal WHAT A RIP OFF😮
Hey I checkout your content time & again, like videos but hardly ever comment. I know first hand how hard it is to make content on top of doing the residencies etc & I so appreciate your honest & valuable sharing. 🫶🏽
They made it to where, if you have a subscription through apple you can’t stream through serato which is wild because how am I suppose you transfer my music over without having to analyze every song I have
this makes me want to go back to the old cd systems. as someone just trying to start out just adding music seems more involved than it should be. its a little bit of a turn off
Great advice. I was switching between serato, Traktor, and Rekordbox. I started using Lexicon DJ. Super powerful way to maintain a single library with powerful playlist creation tools.
