Being a student of the craft, like myself, I hope you will accept this in the spirit it is presented. I think you may have misspoke or be interchanging the two meanings of flip and flipper. This knife 1:37 is not a flipper, although you need to add a little flip of the wrist to deploy the blake. It has two methods of blade deployment, thumb stud and Emerson Wave, the wave feature being the hooked part of the blade that allows it to catch on the pocket and deploy the blade as it is being drawn. You do have three flipper knives like this one 6:52 as you correctly state. They have a part of the blade backstrap that, when closed, allows you to deploy the blade by pressing on the extending tab and forcing the blade out. They also have thumb studs. Again not to criticize but, more to be the friend that would tell you that you have a booger hanging out of your nose, compared to those that wouldn't say anything. Personally, I want someone to tell me, if you don't, then, let me know and I won't say anything next time... booger boy :)
I'm beginning to expect you to comment and look forward to it. Thanks for the correction on terminology. It saved me the trouble. One of the reasons I prefer an actual flipper, e.g.: CRKT M16 series, is it is very quick to deploy and doesn't get the legal constraints put on it like the assisted openers have. Also, the knife with the 9-inch fixed blade looked more like a small bolo to me. I have a larger one strictly for emergency ZA use and don't carry it, mostly. 😊

I'm sure that I don't have to tell you to also keep an eye out for blade length restrictions in the jurisdictions you are carrying, I just include that here for others that might also read this. I've flown with many pilots, both military and civilian, in many types of aircraft (including a Cobra, once). And, have experienced the attitude you are talking about once (military A/C). It's so stupid. Fortunately, almost all the aircraft commanders were very serious about anything that could be possibly construed as an issue, from mechanical failure to weather. Once even just a "funny feeling" that turned out to be a great call. Your outrage and rant are fully justified. There is no room for arrogance creating poor judgement in that kind of environment.

I am going to do something that I don't usually do and this is, agree with you... it was far too convenient that they were able to I.D. the rally shooter from his rifle's SN as quickly as they did. There is a local LE after action report that has a redacted photo of the shooter's (after action) face that is described as the photo used for facial recognition software to use to ID him... which is kind of scary in itself. They'll either explain it away that way or that his father called in at some point saying that he was worried that his son and the rifle were missing... the father had the serial number or that the father told the feds where he purchased the gun, they then called the gun store and had them verify the match. I suspect they have a searchable SN database.
The creation of a searchable database of firearm owners is probably allowed under the Patriot Act. It probably already exists and has existed for over a decade. Just my 2 cents.

Much like yourself, I have almost zero interest in the Olympics. The *only* aspect I do find entertaining and absolutely mesmerizing is swimwear of the female divers and gymnasts. Full exposure of butt cheeks on the newer suits gets 2 thumbs up from me. I may be too old to touch them or 'date' them now, but man, I *do* still enjoy the view.
My EDC blade is a Victorinox Classic SD with a <2 inch blade. It's a tool. My other is a folder with a 3.75 inch flipper blade. It's also a tool. Neither are "goto" as a weapon. My pistol will suffice for that.
100% There are only 2 types of knives to carry: 4" FB, 4" ASSISTED folder. I'm planning a video on this subject. Care to share any comments before the comments? 😅
@@inyourdefense0 My knife-fighting training is several decades out of date. My only advice about it is, "Don't do it." If I had to carry an EDC "knife" for SD, it would likely be my bolo. But, no. Although I really like my knives and do EDC the two I mentioned (and others), I don't consider any of them as weapons. Just tools. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
I noticed you only mention African and Native American ancestry. Have you had your DNA checked? There might be some other notable ethnicity mixed in there.
Shot put? That's a pretty hard ball to throw. And it would really hurt if you got hit by it. Maybe you could make an exception for that. Now, let's also cut all the pre-, mid-, end- ceremonies and shows. They contribute nothing. Maybe add a rule, like the Aztecs did. Losing teams die. That would certainly test commitment.

Look at Sports Bars that have several different games being played at once, same for Monday morning, all the talk at work is about this and that game over the week end. You have a point, but surprises me; I never considered that any woman with fritos for fingernails did anything whatsoever. I take that back, I have seen a lady with frito fingernails play the piano but did so with her hands flat out, none of this hands curved matter. Good info.
Especially women need to cut those nails ! Did you know most all women have a longer trigger finger than males? It's true. Look around at hands. If index finger is longer than ring finger, there's a 98% chance it's a female. This is also a handy way to ID transvestites.

Nails also interferes with the grip. Either the nails are poking into your other hand owow, or you can't close your hand around the grip at all. Good video

@@inyourdefense0 oh I’ve had a lot of experience with stun guns and tasers. I’ve owned many nightclubs in pretty bad areas and they were very helpful. I’ve also tried them on myself in my younger days. Now I’d probably have a heart attack lol
To effectively be able to defend yourself with a knife, you will need to be properly trained on how to use it against an aggressor. A self defense class which includes knife fighting is a must to learn certain moves/skills to prevent from having the knife taken from you and how to place effective hits on your assailant. The same goes for carrying a handgun. You must be properly trained to obtain the required skill level to unholster your handgun in a dangerous situation and be able to place accurate shots on your target without injuring yourself or others. The stun gun may be effective if you are able to place it in your hand and turn it on in advance of a potentially violent situation if the aggressor does not have a weapon. Since this can only be utilized in close contact, self defense skills will need to be acquired before hand. I would personally prefer using your walking stick instead to keep some distance from the aggressor and to allow me to get to my handgun.
I would submit for your consideration that in the heat of the moment you will not even be able to locate that side mounted activation switch, for the same reason you should select a flashlight with a rear, tail cap mounted on/off button, you can find the dang thang with your thumb under stress. That thing is as effective as using loud, harsh language, racking an empty handgun or shotgun, if your assailant is scared off by the noises any of those things make, you're good, if not, you're holding a very small, lightweight, striking, or pressure weapon, basically a kubaton. If it makes you feel good, hey, you do you boo. I carry my teddy bear back pack with me but, I'm under no illusions that it can help me somehow in a self defense situation. Now, I realize that I didn't submit to your narrowly defined criteria of comparing your new toy to a knife... I'm not sorry.
Amit I had no thought of trying to hit the contact button under stress. Agree, if there were a full circumference ring that would activate no matter the orientation of your hand, that would be do much to deal with adrenaline dump.
For competition use, like IDPA, speedloaders may be preferred over moon clips as then you are allowed to shoot with lower power factor compared to when using moon clips. Also, when running speed loader, you are allowed to use 38 special cartridges. Moon clip usage require you to use .357mag brass, which is longer and potentially more difficult to align. These are the rules of the game to give competitors more options while trying to keep it balanced.
"Give me one good reason not to kick your ass right now!" Those were his fighting word. Then he knocked me on my ass. He walked up to me, from behind, while my attention was on my dog. He was nose to nose with me when I turned around. I said, "Get the "funk" out of my face!" He continued to look into my eyes for a moment and then shoved me, which left bruises, in the lower part of my chest, and I actually went about 10 feet off my feet, backwards onto the ground. I had my 9mm in the back of my pants. And about the time I thought, "I'm too close to him to even draw my gun if I thought I needed it", he shoved me. He was a coward. He had been in jail recently for some violent act. But after the police got there, called by three different residents of our community, his girlfriend asked me not to press charges on him. And since she was a sweet person who worked at our apartments, I let it go without charges.

Why they would prob is like poking a lion with a stick, but they must want to go there. About our Military, the last wars generally have been clusters: you were in Vietnam, no plan other than body count, 60K USA soldiers killed and we leave helter skelter and it goes Commie anyway. Iraq? Afganistan? Repeat.
Interesting thoughts from our Idaho Friend. Let’s hope any such hypothetical scenario never comes to pass, because obviously it could go nuclear, and then all bets are off. I’m not a military expert or strategist, but I’ve read hundreds of thousands of pages of world history over the past ~40 years, and for me, one takeaway has been that weapon-systems, whether we’re describing a Trebuchet or Trident Missile, will eventually be used once built. And that’s as applied to the world’s known and quantified players such as Russia and China. Nothing about rogue states such as the DPRK or pick-your-terrorist should one ever acquire a bomb. In the Alaska scenario or war game I would only suggest that any such blitz military attack would almost certainly be preceded by or occur contemporaneously with an infrastructure, vital-systems attack. Take out Alaska’s power grid, crack the pipelines, crater the runways and turn off the net. Mass social confusion and terror. At least most Alaskans are armed . Peace is always the best answer. IMO there’s no such thing as a good war, but there can be a necessary war. Good talk by you. Thanks.

I agree, the language will effect the mind set. Gun Violence, as an example. Guns are not Violent, but that is the mindset for many. Guns are dangerous.
