Happy Easter! Force is force, you're right. That's why they call it "less-lethal" rather than "non-lethal" these days and only law enforcement is permitted to use them without necessarily acting in self defense. I prefer the term _non-combatant_ instead of civilian because a citizen (of any country) might take up arms quickly as military (of any country)
Good class. Would expect the DA to call Chief of Police and Police Expert Force on Force Trainer of 30 years to say this is how we use the baton, unless this info is kept out and a judge may not know better, Jury will hear how the Experts use the baton and if you hit a threat on the head, cops will have said, Never hit the head, you could be held to the cop's standard. Would need pre trial motions to keep this out, may have to explain the judge and cite to case law there are two different missions and standards. Good vid.
My medical device a cane i can take to a bar ,federal building ,school ,airport airliner. There is no place i can't take it . By cane master in Fl Good vid thanks. You can keep then at distance with a cane . No legal infrigmants at all .i just went to a cane from a 21 inch asp.
First off Hope you had a great Easter. Second I found it as one of those kind of weird situations(it's probably googles system stalking me), so YT suggested this to me and recently I picked one up. I used to fall into few categories you mentioned but had a line of duty injury that ended most of the cool guy stuff, but for plain clothes or court I have had Asp Protector which is a friction lock baton for a long time (on duty I carried a collapsible PR-24 call me old skool but I really liked how they worked so when the dept switched to collapsible batons those trained with PR-24's got option)quite a while after my injury I been meaning to upgrade to a Talon Agent for ease of a push button but the whole center meter thing screwed with me(for Leo's & Mil normally size of extendable batons for work use was based on height). Though a civilian in eyes of the law I still personally like to have at min one less than lethal item and honestly with my line of duty injury I used my baton more for disability related things like getting things off a shelf but the friction lock sucked. I will say I went with the 50cm which is roughly the same size extended but collapsed it is not the same it's quite big longer if the protector had a button I would have kept it. Though there really wasn't many options I am quite happy with it. Not sure if you know on the sping clip there is a piece that you can remove and adjust where the spring clip is
Not sure if you have a business that your affiliated with but before I bought mine I hope I got the best price but if needed can recommend place i went through delivery was quick and prices were better than local uniform store
@@inyourdefense0 At least you know it's funny how many people that either don't know or couldn't figure it out bc the instructions aren't clear very clear. Side note I am always interested in various less than lethal options that get invented some work and some don't. I just found the timing of this video funny bc weird things happen for a reason. I was little mad you could only get the 40cm in colors other than black. Also wish the 50cm Agent was same size as the 21" protector when collapsed. Though I understand the law and found this info on par personally I look at it as damed if you do damed if you don't. In the sense as Leo's are questioned in their choice of use of force & someone without experience has usually stupid ideas like if they use deadly force they are questioned and questioned if they don't or choose a less than lethal option. But I personally have wondered say someone is within the 21 ft rule & I decided to use an baton vs lethal force in some states I think I would be screwed either way like there is no right answer, which in itself does drive me little batty people don't understand those choices are made in milliseconds they don't have luxury of critiquing cameras. But like you mentioned there is a difference between Leo's & civilians, It's like I had a buddy who was going to buy a Govt auction of older tasers and had to explain to him the difference between a civilian taser vs leo, the Leo model is to gain compliance and usually a shorter ride vs civilian models some have different barbs/prongs but biggest is the ride the threat takes is 20+ secs it's designed so a person can create distance and some reputable companies will replace civilian tasers if dropped in use(usually have to provide copy of police report) but they are made to fire & forget vs 5-10sec ride hopefully get em cuffed or compliant also some of the Leo models have a blk box of sorts where it not only records use of prongs & dry stuns though will say I do like some of the new ones where they have 4 probes in each cartridge if a follow up shot is needed vs older ones that required swapping them out which can take time and may take focus off suspect. Depending on the subject usually a Fur Missile is feared by all but dry stuns can work but like anything I have seen both tasers & oc not work even had suspects so dopoed up they took strikes like being hit with a pool noodle. There isn't a do all tool besides your brain or the off switch.
