Thanks for video. I followed your instructions on our 09 reg Panda and everything worked fine. Improvised with the plastic trim remover tool using a kitchen implement. Saved £20 on Halfords charge. Cheers!
Bloody hell Jake, I can't even begin to imagine what you've been through. Kudos to you for putting this video together though, you didn't have to but I really admire your honesty. I hope 2024 is a lot kinder to you, because by god do you deserve it! I hope the videography stuff works out for you too, I could really see you full time on the Classics World team, I think you'd be a perfect fit.

It’s life changing and quite literally a carbon copy of what we went through, I won’t go into details as you’ve experienced it first hand - what I will say is ‘Mum was clear… but no 6 months later gone’ - and the final moment a year on Friday is a stern reminder, it’s life shattering at any age, and it hits like an atom bomb - like you mum was integrated into our life living next door, the garden feels different a place which brought endless joy, an exceptional video Jake and love to you and yours, in the words of Dory Just keep swimming, no doubt we’ll catch up at some point… love Ben & Annabelle -- there are no words, I never knew about your Dad…
It really is life changing and it affects you in more ways than you probably ever expect, I know it definitely did for me. Sorry for your loss, sounds like we both took a knock in 2023, I know that feeling of emptiness well and all the firsts so far have probably been the harder days. On a more positive note, It'd be great to catch up and loving the new Shorts channel name, very clever!
Nice to see how the fleet is going! Sad to see the Panda go (it was my favorite!), but I do love a good Dacia...nothing wrong with cheap, reliable cars! Glad the Mini is still doing well too...love the color on that car! :)
Seeing the Panda go wasn't an easy choice at all but with the Sandero now being mine, I couldn't really keep 4 cars and the Panda was too good to leave it sitting. As mentioned though, hopefully we'll see it again at future shows and it'll definitely be on here one more time in the Panda 100hp review once time allows me to actually edit it. The Sandero is a great car, it is very cheap to run and right now I need a cheap and reliable workhorse which it ticks the boxes of nicely. Millie is keeping well at the moment but plans are slowly materialising for that bodywork mentioned. :)
Nice fleet update. I had forgotten that you have the C5 but it's a really interesting side project. The Dacia is a great daily workhorse. Looking forward to seeing the Classic back in the road as it seems like a long time. It must be almost eight months since you had a drive in my coupe.
Thanks Mark, not surprising about the C5 when I haven't really featured it all that much as explained in the video, hopefully i'll make some content on it, I have a road run to do with it in January that i'm targeting, it seems far away but it'll come around quickly, especially with all the background things I still have to do. I have found myself liking the Dacia for what it is as it ticks all my boxes. 2.5yrs since the Classic went off the road now, not too long now. IIRC it was August/September that I drove your Coupe when you went to Beaulieu for Simply French. Hopefully i'll see you there with your Megane Coupe and my Classic this year.
That must have been a terribly difficult video to make, and what an awful time you've been through. I've lost one of my parents, I can't imagine what it would have been like to lose both over such a short period. Hope you're doing OK.
Definitely not the easiest video i've ever made Chris but i'm pleased with how the video turned out, even if i ummed and aahed for a while about posting it at all. Losing mum in August was hard enough but then dad as well...yeah, I don't really know what to say on it. I'm doing okay, just all the background things are taking up a lot of my time at the moment hence less frequent uploads.
It just popped in to say hello at the end there! It is for sure and I hope to get it to FOTU and similar events for the first time either this year or next :)

One of the things that Matt did struggle with was getting parts for it and the Red GL as they are so scarce here (a bit like parts for my Megane, whilst easier than the Sana, still a complete ballache to get now for the Saloon model. No problem at all for the mention, really hope you can continue the Sana's online story and get further than we did with it. There's a Sinclair run in Bournemouth in January 2025 which i'm aiming for as the target for full completion of mine. Hope to catch you at an event somewhere soon!
Nice job sourcing and securing a rear beam for the Renault. I remember frantically rebuilding the rear suspension on a mates just days before he was due to drive it to Eastern Europe.
It hasn't been at all easy but that's the hard part done! Trying to get stuff done to a tight timeframe is quite hard, very glad I don't have that at the moment haha. Hope your friend enjoyed Eastern Europe!
Love a good fleet update. I totally agree with your reasoning with keeping the Sandero too. Every fleet benefits from a no-nonsense worker bee type car that can be relied on to deal with the practical day to day stuff and take the pressure off the fun yet slightly less predictable/ relaxing members. I have a fondness for a small diesel car too. My Mk1 Fabia 1.4 TDi, that I had from 2009-2014, remains one of my favourite cars I've owned for its low running costs and no nonsense way of just getting stuff done. I think we did around 80k together in that time too without incident and it made very good use of its 70 horses. Always a pleasure to see Millie, great to hear you've managed to get elusive bits for the Megane and great work on the C5 too
The Sandero ticks a lot of the boxes I have currently, it's definitely earning its keep between day to day life, trailer towing for rubbish and a holiday recently (some of the content from that you'll see soon). It definitely takes the pressure off of the Mini and Megane (once running). I quite like the Mk1 Fabia, quite an underrated car in the eyes of many but a fantastic and cheap purchase now and slowly getting appreciation. 80k is nothing to be sniffed at! There'll be more on Millie and the Megane on the channel soon too.

A very difficult video to make I am sure Jake and as someone who maybe in the background has more knowledge of your situation through our WhatsApp messages etc I just want again to express my condolences to you and to say how strong you are to be able to not only make this video but to go back to filming content again for your channel. I’m really looking forward to welcoming you to your first trip to Northern Ireland and will most certainly need to get a meet and catch up before the hectic day Jack & Bertie’s is going to be. Oh Jake. First of all that must have been a very difficult video to make, especially when you're probably still trying to process everything. That's two absolutely tragic life events for anyone to go through, especially a young man, and so close together and unexpectedly too. My heart goes out to you. You've done a lot of good in the car community and, probably without even realising, actually helped a lot of people get through some difficult times too by just posting content and sharing your adventures so it's great to hear that people in turn have rallied around you. I know life can never go back to how it was but I hope 2024 brings happiness and fun adventures. Thinking of you sir

Oh man Jake mate....my sincere condolences, I cannot imagine everything you've been through in the last year.... That being said, if there is somebody who is the epitome of the 'Keep Calm and Carry On' British spirit, here you are getting back into something you love, coming to terms with everything and opening up to us. Looking forward to your new content as always when you finally are ready to get back to creating it. Always enjoyed your work (and Genevieve's too!). R.I.P. to your wonderful folks and onwards and upwards :) Hope your Mini, Panda, Genevieve's 500 and the camper are still in fine fettle....my '09 Hyundai Accent is still kicking and doing me proud, though she could use a good wash!
Thanks Kody, it's been a rough year for sure. As mentioned, videos will be a bit all over the place for a while yet but it's getting back into them that counts and I guess the time away has meant i've had time to think up some new things to do and to film so hopefully those ideas will come to fruition and be on here in the coming months. Great to hear that the Hyundai is still going strong! Hope to see some videos of it soon

Both of my parents have passed away now, what you said about your mum really brought back to me when I found out my mum had cancer - like you say, you never forget it. With my dad it was Leukemia, but the sense of loss was the same. May they all rest in peace. 🕯 Looking forward to some new content from you, when you feel up to it. 👍🏻
Cancer sucks and I think it'll take some time yet to come to terms with 2023 as a whole. The good was great but the bad has outweighed it significantly. Thank you for the kind words and i'm sorry you have also had to go through loss from cancer. The content will be there for sure, just maybe a little more spread out than before for a while 🙂

I can never quite figure out if the ones I see are metallic green or metallic red!! Colourblindness issues. For years I thought a mates dad had a metallic green Renault 25 company car. A good ten years or more after that car went I was told it was red. lol the embarrassment!!😂
