great video! I just came back to Taekwondo after about 17 years and loving it. I used to love sparring as a kid, but it really didn't feel like it hurt at all. Now I definitely feel the kicks lol but I'm trying to get used to it
Hello! My name is Arthur, i am a 21 years old music student, and i live in working with music and etc. But, on the last few months, i've been so much interested in the idea of learning a martial art, especially taekwondo. However, I am afraid of the risks involving my hands (that's one of the reasons that got me on taekwondo). Do you think it's too dangerous? Is it possible to learn without breaking my fingers? Hahahaha
A couple of things. I am a 66yo 1st dan black belt and I agree: don't try to keep up with the kids! At this age, I just can't physically do everything that the young ones do. Also, as part of training we learned the Pal-gwe forms. At our dohjang, taeguk forms come once one reaches black belt. Why? Heck if I know why it is done this way. The important thng is that I am happy with my teacher and their instruction. Thx
Well it's true. You can't take their rank away once they have earned it through skill. Life happens but if they get back into it they get it back fast.
@@MaharlikaAWA While Cobra Kai is TSD, I see some TKD as well, or does TSD have Tornado Kicks and 540 Heel Kicks too? Overall, most people who aren't familiar with Karate generally perceive TKD as Karate (they're not entirely wrong) due to the Gi (Dobok) and Dojang layout. So I'd imagine kids and adults would want to get into some form of Martial Art after watching Cobra Kai. Heck, Bruce Lee who didn't necessarily train Karate inspired many to take up Martial Arts including Karate, TSD/TKD etc.
WOOHOOO topic tuesday!!! Btw do you plan on making other kind of vids like tips and tricks, so so like you used to do back then? And the edit too, your old videos have very entertaining editing, yet informative
Thanks for answering my questions! I think you’re spot on about the beginner private lessons. Some topic suggestions for next Tuesday : What’s the utility of the WT forms specifically. What advantages / disadvantages do they have when compared to others styles forms like shotokan or tang soo do. What are the benefits of training forms. Can focusing greatly on forms make you more equipped for self defense.
I have to do the step side kick for board break this Saturday 😭 my accuracy is not that great with the heel, your video really helps even tho it’s not step it shows that I should be turning my back foot
Thankyou sir for a thorough explanation in regards to my topic Tuesday sliding into Wednesday request ! Ofcoarse, it was by no means a thought to who said she said type thing over costs and to have Masters dual it out on the roof tops in regards, although there was some Ip Man films that showed it entertainingly ha...it was a kind gesture of warning and info on your part. Yes, it was 500 dollars I was referring to, and you ridge handed it on the head with that one , thanks again and look forward to submitting more tae kwon do topics! have a good week and can't wait until next topic Tuesday!
Thank you sir for answering my questions! I am a new follower and I highly enjoy your channel. I am a first degree black belt in taekwondo working towards my second degree and all poomsaes new and old are included in my testing. Also I didn’t know my name was shown like that as Keisha227. But you say my name correctly. Thank you. PS: you look amazing. I had two kids and I’m a nurse so 35 feels like the new 85 lol 😅 but I love the sport so I’ll keep going. I’m pretty close to the ground when it comes to the spilt but I have hit a plateau and I just get super sore. So you’re right with all that’s going on in my adult life I truly don’t have extra time to stretch more than I already am. Keep up the great work with these awesome videos 🙏🏽 ❤
Main topic at 3:20 Summary: Yes! ( you'll be in hell though ) Besides master Paul, I suggest you try taking a look at the training method named Greasing the Grove. I've been doing some of your exercises in the course using that method and I'm seeing improvements so yeah, thank you so much by the way!
Awesome video! Hey, I just want to say that I’m so happy to see how far your channel has come, congratulations on your good work, I’ve been a subscriber since you had only 400 subscribers. I remember last year I talked to you once wether I should start taking up taekwondo as a karateka, and a few days later I took my first class and I’m still doing it 🔥 I love it as much as I love karate, I’ve even participated in poomsae competitions.
Hi, Sir! I hope you're doing well! Let me start pointing out that Tuesday on Wednesday is still good! I would love to know if you'll watch Taekwondo matches in this next Paris Olympics. The first matches will happen Agust the 7, a Wednesday. Will you watch!? Are you supporting American Team or even some specific athlete!? I would like to know. Thank you!
