( ITF taekwondo practitioner here ) knife hand ( Sonkal ) leads with the little finger 1st ,whereas ( Sonkal Dung ) reverse knife hand leads with finger ahead of the thumb :) ( I do a lot of board breaking using reverse knife hand :)

Oh man! You preempted my next 'Topic Tuesday' question! (Which was going to ask why there are so few spinning kicks in poomsae?) Anyway, love this line of content about poomsae applications and self-defence techniques. Thank you for the fun take on it too. Martial artists can take themselves a bit too seriously sometimes - especially on YT 👍

Love the boxing gloves. Our adult classes have been incorporating 5 minutes of boxing training (with gloves) after class. Rounds out martial skills, while adding cardio.

I do traditional taekwondo, it’s closer to ITF. This guy has great humor. I love how he rats on all versions of the sport.

You had me at the ITF guys and nobody likes you. I LOLed. Makiwara in Korean is Bong Soo. Where did you get yours or did you make it? How? You are correct about their being more hand techniques in Taekwondo than foot techniques.

In our days like this I really really wish did I was in my original karate class I was doing so well on to it I just wish I could have had done better but now here I am I want to let that taekwondo class is all about I'll try to put my best foot forward and try to use my hands for real combat but I'll be more careful when I'm out there and thanks for the tip and I really really wish I could have stayed in my original karate class all those years ago back in 2011😉👍

Yeah, there shouldn’t be any real fighting. Both are obviously perfectly acceptable things to study.

My first BB was under the WTF back in the 80's....I would never admit it now for fear of ridicule, then later ITF BB but they're so cult like I eased out of the dojang one day and stopped taking calls😬... a nice dojo took me in out of pity I suspect 🤔😊
