Before RTK days, I worked at a drone company in 2014 and we spent months trying to get an accurate landing with lasers, etc. RTK was a game changer it came out

Very nice job Bro. Can I ask you something? I tried to control my quadcopter with python script. In GPS-3D fix situation, "pre-arm checks" ok and it is easy to Takeoff and Landing in GUIDED mode. But why can't we do "pre-arm checks" in the case of GPS-no fix situation? Have you tried your copter in a GPS-no fix situation?

Hello,Thank you! Yes, GUIDED mode, like LOITER mode, relies on GPS for accurate navigation.If the drone loses its satellite connection mid-flight, it will try to use its last known GPS position and its Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) data to estimate its position. This method is called inertial dead reckoning, but its accuracy declines over time due to sensor drift.If the pre-arm check fails because there’s no 3D GPS fix, the drone will not take off as a safety precaution.However, if you want to take off without GPS, you’ll need to add a few additional sensors, such as a downward-facing single-point lidar for altitude and an optical flow sensor for detecting horizontal movement (x, y). These sensors will help the drone to estimate its position relative to the takeoff point.I've tried flying without GPS using these sensors, and it works very well!

@@PankajMali Thank you for raising awareness for me. I'd like to ask one more thing if you okay. According to the IMU sensor of CUAV v5+ Flight Controller, MS5611 barometer. Also, in GPS: no fix condition, we can fly using RC transmitter and stabilize mode. So, - Is it possible to do general takeoff and landing without using lidar or optical flow sensors? - Is it possible to write a code that skips "Waiting for vehicle to initialise..." in "Basic pre-arm checks"? ​yes its possible to by pass the pre arm for no-gps without any sensors and to take off in stabilize mode by modifying the firmware

Currently trying to follow this tutorial with a Raspberry pi 4 and python3. I have corrected the syntax differences required for python3 but keep getting a strange error from line 88: rms, camera_matrix, dist-coefs, rvecs = cv2.calibrateCamera(obj_points, img_points, (w, h), None, None) error (-215:Assertion failed) nimages >0 in function 'calibrateCameraRO'. Any help would be appreciated

I have struggled with following some of this. At 20:56 there is a "magic happens" moment. All is well until here. How do you get the pi address? The address you use and the pi@ will not work. I had this trouble before - getting in with ssh - help. i'm stuck. How can I find out if the link to my router is working? I did buy your complete kit .

Thanks for the tip on not tightening the props all the way. 2 of my props came off mid launch amd are somewhere in my eucalyptus tree. God only knows where the nuts went. 👍🏻

It's a balance. If you don't tighten enough the props will fall off. If you tighten too much you will break your props off.

So where is the other component of the RTK system? It's all a bit vague. It's not a real RTK system. If it was then you could achieve 1cm.

Please help: We are new to RC aircraft, and we are stuck on this process. After following your calibration instructions step by step, we move the throttle up slightly and then the motor jerks and stops then beeps 3 times as if it's confirming the calibration again. When I push the throttle up again, it jerks again and repeats the process. If you leave the throttle up, it beeps non-stop like a warning. What could be wrong? Thanks in advance.
