This was just bad. This is what happens when inclusivity and diversity goes overboard cuz what ends up happening is celebrating mediocrity. Leave the original alone and let it live in our hearts and minds forever.
Why someone decided to remake 'Dirty Dancing' is a real head scratcher for me. Among the changes which I found curious was, they made Lisa Baby's younger sister, rather than her older sister. In doing so, they took away her pairing with "Robbie the Creep," & that played a significant role in the original movie.
1. If you're gonna dance to this kind of music, why are you not mashing potatoes and doing the twist? 2. Why are the backup dancers better dancers than the lead actors? That's concerning.
I only saw the dance clips of this movie. No hate on Abigail and I don't care about her weight. The problem is that I've seen more thick Latinas dance better. Hell, the girl in Havana Nights is did it better. Went from "don't touch me there" to "let's have sex to music." Also, there was no chemistry between Baby and Johnny, let alone energy when they dance. In the classic, Johnny could lead anyone to be a fantastic dancer. In real life, Patrick and Jennifer couldn't stand each other in this film, yet they were the most famous couple in Hollywood because their chemistry was so damn believable.
In the original Dirty Dancing.. the actors actually knew how to dance, this movie is not an improvement, why make a remake if its going to be worse than the original.
In the original dirty dancing they do alot more stage dancing then they did in this and i think this is my opinion this is a cringey movie and the original is way better
Dude.. so fucking lame.. i was expecting.. like the original but with new actors.. obviously. Theres so much wrong here.. and is this a fucking musical? Way to ruin it all.. no wonder i havent seen shit on this until now.. what a flop
