I just think with this offense Orji is a safe choice than people think because he can pick up 5 yds per carry on accident if he wants to. Nobody has talked him head to head solo, it takes multiple people to bring him down this offense will need that be it’s going to be a lot of multiple tight end and extra blocking like the Penn st game a lot and I’m fine with that. Everybody wants a pretty offense and throw the ball a lot but this line is too inexperienced to be more balanced . Warren played great in spring game everybody wants him that’s cool, but when orji was the only qb last year spring game to not turn the ball over, nobody demanded he start.
I've said it a lot, and I'm definitely not alone saying that if they get solid QB play, they'll be able to compete with anyone in the country. In my opinion, their defense might be even better than last year's top defense. They addressed their only weakness with the portal by adding secondary depth, and they are loaded. On offense, I'm higher on their WRs than most, and they have the best TE in the country and what sounds like a very good group behind him. On the Oline, sure they lost all their starters, but there's still a ton of experience and a ton of talent there, it's going to be just fine, and wouodnt surprise me if it turns out to be one of the best O lines in the country. Their running game is going to be phenomenal again with edwards being the between the 20s guy and mullings getting the short yardage and goaline work that corum excelled at. Michigan doesn't ask a lot from their QB so the biggest things are accuracy on short and intermediate routes, ability to extend plays with their legs and not just tuck and run, and just execute when called upon. They don't have to be elite (although it helps) they just have to be consistent and not turn the ball over. If they can continue doing what they've been doing as far as converting on 3rd downs, and limiting penalties and turnovers, they should be plenty good. Seems like everyone is underestimating and disrespecting them again which is a big mistake in my opinion. It's easy to jump to conclusions when the only thing u hear about Michigan's offense is all the players they lost, but if u actually take a look at who they have, they can be very good. So let them sleep. They thrive as the villain; it's still Michigan vs everybody.
Unfortunately, J Tut is nowhere near Davis Warren. In fact, Warren is better in and out of the pocket than Orji, who is a ripper on the ground and RPO. Germaine and Stanley? Tuttle will be great at some point during this season. Hall is nowhere but great.
Yes! Please make a video about defensive depth chart. Thank you so much for your knowledge, support of our Championship Team 💙 Michigan Wolverines Football. Team 145 put in the work. Go see Coaches Tress and O'Connor and put in the work.
Michigan's AD just pretty much confessed that the NCAA is about to drop the hammer on them for the cheating scandal , everyone knows its coming , even their number one apparel store is going under because no one is about to buy any thing that they will soon be embarrassed to wear in public
No reason not to use multiple quarterbacks and use each one’s specific skill sets for a certain situation. They also can develop offensive run schemes or packages that play to Alex Orji’s running ability. Good overall analysis of the offense.
Where all the big backs at the top 10/15 and we in the driver's seat for a 3* lol but hey we develop and find talent in guys others don't see so I'm fine
Michigan has great talent on offense this year. Elite defense. Who cares what everyone says. My Wolverines weren't expected to do much last year. Culture will rule
Here's my hope of what the coaching staff does in week 1 against Fresno State: Start Orji and call a lot of passing(for Michigan standards) in the first half. If he completes them then we have our guy. If he turns the ball over or looks bad then put Warren in the 2nd half. I know a heavy passing offense IS NOT Michigan's style, but we aren't going to find out who is the QB by having Donovan running up the middle on every first & second downs.
I think they'll try to get as many QB's in the game against Fresno State, and whoever the starter is against Texas will have a short leash if they are doing bad.
They are extremely underrated. The O-line has three guys that have started games in the Big Ten before. The two who have not started any games were both highly coveted 4-Star recruits who are four years removed from high school. They're not freshmen. There are also two backups that could start so there's some depth again too. Donovan Edwards is one of the best big play backs coming back for his senior year and there is a lot of depth behind him, so the running game should be solid once again. They also have one of the best "big-bodied" receivers in the nation in Colston Loveland, who often lines up out wide in various formations. With Marlin Klein emerging at tight end Loveland could be more flexible. Fullback/H-back Max Bredeson will get a lot of reps too, as he is one of the best blockers returning on the team. The top six receivers on the team should be Loveland, Morris, Edwards, Moore, Morgan, and Klein. After all that, there really won't be enough balls to go around to too many more guys.
Davis Warren will eventually become the starter because he's the best passer and can execute literally all of the plays, however they'll probably start off with Alex Orji and then Tuttle will get a chance afterwards.
How can you say the ONLY question about Orji is his passing? That's the most important skill for a QB. Davis Warren was much more impressive as a thrower in Spring game. Orji seems like a much more athletic Joe Milton. Joe was awful
Orji is a horrible passer. I am surprised they have not changed his position. Looking alot like Denard Robinson 2.0 to me. Can not hit the side of a building passing but is excting to watch, unfortunately exciting does not win games.
Denard was good until Brady Hoke. tried to make him a pocket passer and reading defenses. He wasn't recruited as that@@tylerderdin7691Denard broke a lot of Michigan records
Love the video..yes, put up a defensive depth chart. How to help the offense to start the season. RPO will benefit this offense a lot. The D will help with short fields and getting turnovers, but SPECIAL TEAMS!! Can really help put points on the board. Pending the other teams back, kick and punt returns to the house. GO BLUE !!
I think that Moore obviously being close with all those big guys up front and choosing to really not try for anyone but priebe in the portal just speaks to the ability of the guys we got.
@tatertots0046 Agreed. Ppl don't realize how deep our Oline was again last year. They gave washington the joe moore award because they were just tired of giving it to Michigan lol.
@@JoshuaMollette I disagree Washington's OL was better for most of the year. Now Michigan was better blocking overall: Max is 1 of the best fullbacks EVER, AJ was the best blocking TE in the nation, Our WRs blocked their assea off, and last but not least Blake was very good in pass pro.
@tatertots0046 Washington's was good, but their schedule was horrendous. Boise state, Tulsa, mi state, California, Arizona, Arizona state, Stanford, Oregon state, Washington state.... If they played a standard Big10 schedule, their oline would have looked alot more pedestrian imo
Tuttle is the safe choice. Orji is the popular choice. But, I was most impressed with Davis Warren; he can sling it. With experience, he could become something, IMO.
Dude Davis Warren can spin it period. He’s always been able to sling it if you go back to before he had cancer and he was in high school you can see it. But don’t worry, Carter Smith is on his way.
Loved the in depth look into the 2024 depth chart. Yes, I would also love one for the Defense side of the ball. Everyone from our rivals to the national media "ALL" underrate us at your own peril!!!! This just gives our Boys in Blue more fuel to the Fire, and even bigger chip(boulder) on our shoulders!!!!! Make EM PAY!!! ⚠ Go Blue Baby!!!!!!🏈🏆
