Hello and welcome to the infinitekronos channel. This channel is all about affordable watch collecting, and reviewing affordable watches, as well as the occasional video on the history of timekeeping and horology in general.
I believe that watch collecting is a very personal passion to individuals and that what is beautiful and collectible for me or you, my not be the case for others and that diversity is what makes watch collecting so awesome and amazing.
My reviews will cover watches mostly the sub $500 range, and I cover homage watches as well as original designs. I cover brands like Casio, Timex, Seiko and brands from AliExpress like Steeldive, Pagani Design and many others. I am an affiliate for both Amazon and Ali Express and I will leave links to the products I review.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoy the content and consider subscribing.
Great video on the seiko land shark , think the company wanted to give an all in one type watch to customers which did make sense as diver + field watch baby type. Would love to own this but Seiko watchs price are damn high here.
Thanks for watching. It really is a great watch that seems to cover a lot of things like you said. I picked mine up on Jomashop over a year ago, but prices have gone up and it's getting harder to find them. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment. I really appreciate the support. All the best to you!
Good review there on AE1200 there, its good that you got confused in my previous comment over AE1500 , and ended up reviewing the legend casio Royale finally 😅. Its definitely a beater travel watch for sure ,just got the full metal royale for 2000rs(25$) in the amazon sale going on now , its definitely compliment both casual and formal dresses. And the glass is not a mineral glass its a resin glass which is for sure prone to scratches if not taken care. Now waiting for your AE1500 review.
Thanks for watching! My bad on the crystal. Glad you liked the video. It definitely is the kind of watch that I could almost call a GADA watch. The full metal one look really nice and really make it look more dressy. I'm definitely working on the AE1500 now. Thanks again for watching and for your support. All the best to you.
I have the basic black version, and there's really only one tiny issue I have with it. Those bars that surround the map, throw shadows in certain light. Other than than, it's an excellent buy.
I see what you mean. It doesn't happen all the time, which is good. I find I have a bit of trouble reading the analog watch dial on the left corner, kind of small for me. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it!
Hey Kronos, thanks for the informative video! I'm thinking about buying this watch but have 1 question that I can't seem to answer anywhere -- does it tick, and does it tick loudly?
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful. So to answer your question, it does tick like a quartz watch would but it's not loud at all. I've had it on my bedside table and I couldn't hear it. Great watch overall for the price. Thanks for watching!
Picture this watch with the hand wound mechanism of seagull (slimmest case), a power reserve indicator at 9 and maybe a date window at 3 for visual equilibrium. Wouldn't that be something?
Nice idea!! Keeping it all in the vintage aesthetic as well with the rest of the watch. You know I did get a slight feeling that the dial was a little too empty looking. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for the feedback. You know, I don't know why I haven't done one on the AE1200. It's an awesome watch. Thanks for watching and for commenting. I really appreciate it.
It took me two weeks to realize you said the AE1500 not the AE1200. LoL. Sorry about that. Yes, the AE1500, would be a great candidate for review, thanks for the suggestion. In the meantime I just posted a video on the AE1200 if you are interested. Sorry again for the confusion and thanks again for watching. All the best to you!
You really can't beat the price! You get so many features for your money and it can take a pretty good beating too! Thanks so much for watching and for leaving a comment.
I really do like the 5610. I figure if someone is stuck between the dw5600 and the gwm5610, 8 say go with the 5610. It costs a bit more, but you get a lot more too! That Rangeman is such an awesome looking watch, I can imagine it must be huge on wrist! Thanks so much for watching and for your comment!
I dived into automatics and honestly got tired of all being the same besides materials and colors, and needing to be winded since I do not wear them much. I am going back to quartz, since they are a set it and forget it adjustment type. The accuracy of the cheapest and worst quartz accuracy performer in my "collection" is so far ahead of the best automatic, no joke! 24 seconds behind on the quartz vs 2.40 min ahead after 1 month on the automatic.
Quartz does offer you much better accuracy and the ability to grab and go and set and forget (for the most part) . I have several quartz and auto/mechanical watches and I can't seem to decide which I prefer. The High precision quartz watches however are very nice, like the Longines VHP line. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment!
@@infinitekronos Was looking for the VHP but is hard to find a new one. I started to gravitate back to quartz since I am a function over form kind of guy and cant be without timer, hourly beep and indiglo/light like in timex/casio. Oceanus are great i see!
Thanks so much for watching! Yes, I really do like my Timex expedition. It really is super, super easy to read! I also like the indiglo backlight. Overall, for around $50 you can't beat this watch! Thanks again!
@@infinitekronos You got a sub, I like videos like this since the whole internet went on the "luxury" binge and kind of dived into it and realize its just the same with different materials and colors, like Rolex, lol
I got a lot of Casio watches, including about 15 or so G-Shocks, but my mostly worn and favorite is the W-736H. The W-202 should have made it to your list, it's about the size of a F-91W but with the exact same features as a DW-5600E. I'll get a WS-1700 when prices are going south during cyber week, not that I need it but I like the bad ass military look, especially in the tan/coyote color.
Thanks for the recommendation on the WS-202. I did check it out and it look really nice. That WS-1700 is so cool looking with the two tone look of the desert tan and black. It is so cool! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate the support!
My Casio collection has crossed 50 ( just stating the fact with no other intention 😉) Some of my favorites from my collection which weren’t in this list (with the prices I paid for brand new ones in India): AW-90, MTP-V005, AE-1000/1100/1500 ($20 or less) MTP-VC01D (under $40) MTD-125/130 (under $70) G-Shocks - AW-500, G7700, GD350/400 (under $70) G-Squads - GBA-800, GBD-200 ($90) Edifices - EFR526L, EFR-S108D (under $90) And my all time favorite Casio - AE3000 (imported for $80)
Wow! You have really amazing Casio's. I was looking at them before I responded and I have to say they are really nice! I can see why the AE3000 is your favorite. It is so incredible! I also really liked your AE1100. I have the ae1000 too! Nice watch but the back light is terrible on mine. I love the edifice series also! Great collection you have! Thanks for watching and letting us know about your collection. I really appreciate it. Now, I know the next Casio's I can go get!!
That AE1500 has a really large display for sure! You can't miss seeing it! Thanks so much for watching and for letting me know your favorite Casio. I do appreciate it!
Nice and concise review. As a cheapo watch collector (I have about 20 ranging from £5 to £200, plus a couple up to £1000) I watch many review channels. I like your style (video, not clothes!). Subbed.
Thanks for watching and for subscribing! I appreciate your comment about my delivery of the content. I like to keep things relaxed and not too formal. Like you are watching a regular person. Thank again for watching, I appreciate it!!
Picked up this watch at a pawnshop 10.00. Stoped later. Replaced the battery and gave it a little tuneup. Added a black nato strap I had in stock and wow, love it. Thank you for this content.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I did the same with mine. I changed out the strap and it really gives it such a different look! If you like Casio's, I'm finishing up my next video on 10 Casio's for under $100. Should be out later this weekend or early next week. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate the support!
I've considered buying this about 10 yrs ago but felt it's missing something. I was not really too excited then until recently I got into the nato strap rabbit hole and I need something as rugged and inexpensive that I could take it anywhere so I recently purchased it, and man was it goegeous! It's been my daily, 2 mos old, it also looks good on my 6.5in wrist. It looks like a military watch on nato. I really love it as much as my more expensive watches.
It really is such a great watch. I've had mine now for almost a year and I don't think I'll get tired of it! The lume is really good, the overall l design is fantastic! The only problem I've got with the watch is the compass moving around because it runs bs against my wrist. I really wonder if that could have been designed differently. Other than that, I have no complaints at all! Thanks for watching and for your support. I really appreciate it!
Nostalgia: I have none, by the time they became affordable I was in college and had other toys. I still have a bunch of Casio watches... The F91W for instance does not do much for me, I like watches with more complications/functions, as long as they don't go into smartwatch territory, I hate being interrupted when I'm working on something.
I so agree with you on the F-91w. When I was in school it was the Casio calculator watch and the watch that played its version of space invaders. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment.
I've been looking at getting an SKX. You get so much watch for the money. Yeah , I can totally agree. It should have been in the prospex line. Thanks for watching and for your comment! Appreciate the support!
@@infinitekronos I edited my comment . I initially wrote SKX209J1 but I corrected my it . I was referring to my SKZ209J1 blue dial and blue bezel Land Shark 🦈. It’s such an amazing and unique watch .
OH MY GOODNESS I LIKE THIS GUY, EVEN THOUGH HE IS NOT HANDSOME HAHAHA, BUT I LIKE THE WAY HE SPEAKS NOT TO FAST AND NOT TOO SLOW, VERY CLEAR AND PRECISE SPEAKS, I LIKE HE INTRODUCED ALL OF THE WATCHES, GOOD WORK MY FRIEND, JESUS LOVES YOU SO MUCH
I think to the average person who may not know the finer details of watches it does have that look to it. Again, those are my thoughts. As to my mental state, I can assure you I am fully coherent. :) . To each their own I say. Thanks for your thoughts and for watching.
It really is like an alpinist on steroids!! That is so cool that it's the first Seiko 5 with 200m WR!! Now I really love even more than I already did!! Thanks so much for watching and for leaving a comment! I really appreciate the support! Take care!
Thanks for that information! I found that after some digging around, that I got three different dates. 2005, 2010 and 2012. It's rather interesting really. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I do appreciate your support! Take care!
That's too bad about the prices being so high. I would think for a Seiko 5 you would expect a better price. Thanks for watching and for your comment. I really appreciate it!
@@infinitekronos The 7S26 is also day/date. The difference is that the 7S36 has two extra jewels and they are more concave vs 7S26 (perhaps for better shock resistance?). I look forward to more videos from you.
don't buy this watch. the movement is not as advertised. the GMT hands do not work properly and when you try to close the crown it does not "de-engage" to screw in . so the hour hands and minutes keep moving. so not able to set up the time properly.....
Sorry to hear you are having issues with the movement. So, I'm not 100% sure I understand what you are encountering. The movement is a Seiko NH34 which is a caller or office GMT. Sounds like maybe the movement might be stripped. I would contact Boderry about a replacement. Thanks for watching.
That is such a good question. For first dress watch, I'd say the Orient Bambino Gen 2 (Cream dial). The cream dial I think really adds a vintage look to it. Especially with those Roman numerals. As for dive watches, I'd personally go with the Citizen Promaster Diver. Citizen is really known for their dive watches. Now, if budget is a concern with dive watches, and you don't care about ISO certifications, then the Orient Kamasu or for even less than the Kamasu, check out the Orient Mako(the non chronograph model) also a great first dive watch. Now, if you really want a very, very inexpensive dive watch and you don't mind quartz, the Casio MDV-106( the Duro) is hands down the best dive watch for under $100. I did a full review on it, if you are interested. Thanks so much for watching!! Sorry for the long reply!
That is a beautiful watch! The 1965 Heritage Diver is absolutely awesome! I will definitely consider a video about the watch. Thanks for watching and for the suggestion!! I really appreciate it
The new spb has an much improved movement, bracelet, clasp. It also is an amazing looking watch, I've got the spb297 which is a143 with a different dial, beautiful watch got it for half price and couldn't be happier except the movement is trash, +25 a day. If you did a comparison with the old and new you would get Alot of views. I've just subscribed and many people would, I know it's quite expensive at £1100 but well worth the money
@@Andy-ys8sj thanks so much for the recommendation comparing the two. It does sound like that would be really interesting. Overall, the spb does look like a absolutely beautiful timepiece! Maybe I need to give it a second look. Who knows. Thanks for watching and for your comment!! Take care!
Instead of the captain Willard played by Martin Sheen we should call this watch the Charlie Sheen it kind of looks like it but it's not quite the same and it's not quite as old🤣 or we can call it the Chris Taylor as it was Charlie Sheen's character's name in platoon
I love the references! Maybe they can come up with one for Emilio Estevez. It's a pretty good homage to be honest and the darnn thing is built like a tank. Lune is much better than other watches. Thanks for watching.
Hello and thank you watching and for subscribing! I do love that cream dial, l felt like I had more options for straps with that color. Not sure if that was your reason as well, but the overall look to me is really stunning! Take care and thanks again for watching! I really appreciate your support!
Wow! Four!? Which other ones did you pick up if you don't mind me asking? I really need to get on the ball and at least get one so I can finally see what all the great comments about San Martin are all about! Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment! Based on everything I've heard about San Martin, you should be pretty happy with them! Enjoy!
@infinitekronos the SN0118 blue and orange. SN0017 g b ghost. SN0128 G3 brown. I used my RU-vid money. I was only getting 2 but I ended up doing 3 separate orders to use the most coupons. Like 750 for all 4 but I won't buy anything else till like November.
