Hey Nick! I'm actually located in Delmar so pretty close to you. What is your favorite place to ride in the area? I've been looking at Hilltop Riders in New Scotland. Any other suggestions?

I’ve heard of hilltop riders and heard good things. I know many travel way up to tug hill. I’m not apart of any clubs at the moment. I plan on joining some once I’m done with school and have more free time to ride!

I own both 450 and the 700 and definitely the 700 is the way to go if you need the extra power on the other hand the 450 smaller and fun to ride perfect for the kids and wife.

Is the lack of power steering on this an issue compared to the deluxe model? Issue may not be the right word, but is the power steering really worth the extra cost?

Honda doesn’t need to change anything on these machines.. the 420 is damn near bomb proof… why the crap would you want them to change? People that buy Hondas are the same type of people that buy Toyotas. They buy them for reliability. If you want max power and performance, then buy a bigger motor wheeler of another make.

This is totally off topic,I have a 2023 rancher,less than 600 miles,bought new and NOT abused in any way.Recently it has developed a squealing noise in the front end,took it to dealer last month,thet greased it up and the noise stopped,only driven it maybe 5 miles since I got it back,now it has started back as of yesterday.Does ANYBODY have a clue what this is?Help please.

I would of got the rancher as it is just the funner bike to ride , gears are longer and more recreational but ... the forman does have the differential lock is why I bought the foreman and I've owned 4 of them. The lower gearing helps at times hunting although the rancher will do 89 percent of what you want . I just like the foreman look wit the headlight , I'm not racing , just hunting and working so the foreman was my choice . Can't go wrong with either of them .

Bought 2024 450 Kodiak SE earlier this year. It's runs pretty nice after you ride it about 700-800 kilometers. And my brothers 570 Outlander Pro + can't keep up from 0-60kmh, which was a surprise. Kodiak is lightweight and turns tight, and large footwells are a plus. Nice video again!

The EPS isn't the introduction model or lowest class. Its exactly the the same as the other 2 .. Its the best value for the buck. Everyone complains about the 14 inch wheels, and a couple of stripes or a winch that you can install yourself self cheaper is hardly worth the price difference. My EPS has Zillas and a winch. If you want stripes you can order any factory stripe you like. They don't have any more power or faster than the EPS model. Mine will go anywhere they can go... and cost a lot less !

I believe Honda does a lot of testing before they ever bring out a completely new model. I know some people want to see something different, but Honda has IRS, Power Steering, locking Differentials now. They have improved their DCT automatic, the LED headlights seem to make since, and will likely come stock on new future models. Other than a big bore apart from the Rubicon 700 Honda pretty much has what other manufacturers have. They may include better gauge cluster info on future models as well. They offer a comparable wheel package on the Rubicon Deluxe models. Honda is not likely to bring a big bore ATV like the 850’s or 1000’s to the market anytime soon. The closest you are likely to see is the Talon, and Pioneer 1000. I would think something more like a 620, or 720 type machine like a Rubicon 520 if they were to. Honda offers solid machines, they just don’t approach the market like for example Can Am or Polaris. That’s just not Japanese Engineering thinking, think Toyota or Kubota. Reliability is the top priority for them, apart from profits. Consumers over time learn that the greatest and latest comes at a cost oftentimes not only up front, but over the long term as newer technologies tend to take years to develop into reliable features. Honda for example won’t bring these new features to the market until they meet their reliability requirements, which may take years of rigorous testing to workout flaws. Who knows how many hours of testing their IRS, Power steering, and DCT went through before it was put into their production models. Honda knows the life of the engines the design, and develop. They can tell you the exact estimate of the amount of miles those machines can achieve before complete engine failure. The average consumer doesn’t know that kind of info, but Honda does. In order for them to achieve 200,000-500,000 miles on say a 520 engine if that’s it potential for example, they have to have it go through the amount of time it takes to accomplish that, and many other such things. This is one of the reasons Japanese manufacturers seem to take so long to bring new models to the market. Toyota for example has the philosophy to build the most reliable longest lasting vehicles on the road, that is their top goal. They seen the success of making this their top priority in the market, now they are on the top of the Global market in sales.
@BrickNick931
@BrickNick931 2 месяца назад
I agree with you on those larger features and mechanics it takes a lot more time. But simpler things like better quality plastics or nicer displays like off the pioneer 700 or the plastic used on the pioneer 520 are things they could transfer over to their atv models. I’m hoping with the new rubicon models some of that will be carried over to the rancher / foreman models.
@alexmaclean1
@alexmaclean1 Месяц назад
I agree fully. I am pretty disappointed with the "new" 700 though. If they could have crammed it in a proper rubicon chassis with the newer dct and locking diff if would have been great.
@TiffanyBottomsHunter
@TiffanyBottomsHunter Месяц назад
@@alexmaclean1 We will probably have to wait for some time to see something completely new from Honda, and it may not be a 700 class cc machine. It depends where there sales are, I believe they are more focused on the SXS market right now, so a lot of their investment is likely there. They have all the numbers in front of them, they know what their goals are.
@adamnagel7436
@adamnagel7436 Месяц назад
@@TiffanyBottomsHunter SXS's are the bigger market and where the money is at. The ATVs do the job they need to. For most use cases their ATVs are plenty capable and normally more durable.

@@BrickNick931 Honda saves cost where they can, they all do, but the Japanese manufacturers tend to save costs with the plastics. Even the Fourtrax 300’s from the 90’s were known for fading fenders. I just purchased a 2025 Honda Rancher 420 FM1 , I don’t regret it, as that model has been out for sometime, and you pretty much know what you are getting, unlike the new Can Ams, in the first year the amount of problems that have surfaced of the chassis for the 500, and 700 have showed me where Can Am cut corners to save costs. I believe a digital instrumentation that showed more information, like the battery voltage, engine oil temp, coolant temp, rpm’s, more accurate fuel level, and some other useful information would be nice to have, even if the display looked the same, just to have that info would be nice, but not absolutely necessary. I believe Honda does pretty good at making subtle changes to improve their existing platform. Instead of designing an all new machine, just continue improving the platform you already have. I have a 1996 Honda Fourtrax 300 4x4, and a 2025 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 , both foot shifts. It would be nice to still have the kickstart backup of the 300.
