I love how now the new MacOs update Sequoia tackled the 'issues' you discussed in this video. I also made the switch and can't be happier with my choice
It might just be me, but I never really need anything other than a USB A port when I need an adapter. Like never use sd cards anymore, hdmi is only for adding another display which I never do....
Is there no way to get things to snap into grid automatically? Is that only with pictures or let’s say I had a folder and within it were documents, would they not be organised by being fit to the grid? Or would they be moved freely once I clicked and dragged it? Would it not move back to the grid I picked it up from? Sorry guys, I’m about to buy my first MacBook after being a windows user all my life so these questions might sound silly but I was familiar with windows having used it for so long! P.S I’m switching because the battery life on MacBooks is a monster compares to windows!
Congrats bro.. Very nice video.. Just subscribed.. I also switched to Apple since the iphone 12 came out & the MBA M1.. Now I have complete eco system except the homepod & apple watch.. Apple eco system is amazing & smooth.. also the built quality battery, screen & speakers of the macbook is superb.. Apple is the best in my opinion..
Long start ups, sudden restarts for updates, and corrupting my data. Those were all my problems when I was using a windows computer. I switched to Mac OS a few years back. I haven’t had a problem. As for the file system I found a fix to it. You just have to select the arrangement you want the files to be in. After that when you place anything in there it will automatically click in place and if you were to move it. It will go back. As for the other thing hopefully they will be addressed in the new update.
Honestly I prefer the Mac just because it feels better to use. The scrolling feels wonderful. I think the Mac OS art style looks better too, everything just feels and looks better on a Mac.
Equipping my entire staff with this in September 2024. Only Mailspring, LibreOffice and admin work. 256GB and 8GB still is overkill in a working environment. Life isn't a game. Lack of ports? Use a USB-C hub.
I switched to Mac from Windows and I am loving it! Although I still use Android cause I love my Galaxy S24, I just connect my S24 to my Mac and transfer all the photos into the Apple Photo app, works like a charm! I also use WhatsApp to message on both my Mac and Android devices. My Samsung monitor looks great alongside my M2 Mac Mini, I imagine the MacBooks are great too.
Well, in recent times, apple has become quite, not liking of you opening their stuff and fixing it, that I cannot really support, it will make your expensive machine be quite prone to failure with no way out of it since everything's soldered down, the most common point of failure would be it's SSD, as the manufacturers have stated they only have a lifespan of 5 years
would recomend rectangle as i have found it very usfull as someone who use to use a mac . it lets u snap windows to the sides of your screen . also just wanted to say i used a mack for about 1.5 years beffor moving over to a windows pc and i never have had any problems with the securaty of apps like it took lrss than a min to alow screen sharing to an app at max. anyway great vid u deseve more subbs. btw i have disexia so sorry for the pelling mistakes
Great video. 1) Column view in Finder. It's the bomb and something Windows should have. If you still prefer icon view, the only time it doesn't snap to a grid is if there's no sorting. If you sort by name or date or whatever, they will always snap to grid. While in icon view you can go to View Options to set whatever sort you want as the default, and they will always snap to grid from then on. 2) Spaces, which is individual desktops for each app, is also extremely useful. With your trackpad you can flip through all the open apps in a second, each one in full screen view. I find it more useful than snapping two windows in one desktop to each side, though I understand why someone could find that preferable too.
Finally someone tells the truth. Color graded this is one of the most difficult things. How does someone who has a full-time job, children, and a number of other responsibilities, find time for things like color graded?
I'm kind of in the same boat as you. A lifelong Windows user ever since I could walk, but started to leave it behind once the M series macs dropped. Now I own an M2 MacBook Air that I will be confident in while in college.

5:16 this is true just for SOME application. If you remove the apps moving in the trash easly you leave a lot of files on your mac, you should remove it with a SW like app cleaner. I don't why a lot of youtuber give wrong infos about (un)installation
Hi, could you please make a video on how to allow MacBook to share the desktop audio when sharing screen please? I love your videos by the way. Thank you!
From 1983 to when I retired used Windows 2.0 to windows XP Professional, in a large Corporate environment. 2 years before I retired our IT guys told me to switch to a Mac, less maintenance problems, alternative, hire an IT guy to keep fixing Windows. I switched to a Mac, now 2024, never had an issue

1:54 fun fact that’s actually one reason why I don’t like the Air but like the Pro. now I’m a pretty big guy so I’m OK bulky and I actually like bulky and big. I don’t think I’m compensating for anything. I just like it like that. Also, one day I noticed about having a big bulky laptop like my 23 16 inch MacBook Pro is the fact that I know it’s in my bag and not forgotten or stolen.😅
Bro dude, why do you have the best quality on your vids, I thought u had like 100,000 subscribers! Great editing. You will be the biggest tech channel probably like MKBHD! New subscriber!
Personally I always record in straight V-Log with a LUT preview on my monitor because I want as much flexibility in post as possible. I believe the LUMIX S5IIX has an option to bake the LUT into the footage, or you could use an external recorder like the Atamos Ninja V
I recently started using a Mac as someone who swapped from Windows to Linux a year and a bit ago... and the fascinating thing is that Mac just feels like a far less customisable version of Pop!_OS. I'm definitely new to the ecosystem (apart from an ancient iPad 2 I have lying around) so will probably find out I'm just wrong about things, but... why can't I handle file structures and downloaded items manually? Why is the dock mandatory? Why can't you download 90% of the advertised app store apps if your Mac is a little bit old?
As you said video editing drastically downgrades my battery backup time in a day, i am confused i have two options either m1 air with gb ram or i9 specked up 16 inches, 16 inches screen estate is amazing because of the sheer size, m1 air base model is how much faster than this i9, how much performance am i gaining or loosing choosing either of these, main software i use is fcp, need to edit 4k iphone footages and occasional 10 bit footage from a camera but mostly 8 bit , m1 pros are beast i do agree, but in the second hand market i am getting these models in a similar price range,i do own a 13 inch macbook pro 2012 i edit my small instagram reel in 4k without any issue, but i would like more screen if possible but i how much am i loosing in this.
In this day and ahe If you need more storage and ram anyway just get the base m1 pro refresh instead of m1 air let alone finding a custom config with upgrades? It doesn't cost that much more when you upgrade the ram and storage that will already be default in the pro
