@@SheepHillHerbs The speed of production is amazing, but more than that, as a recovering alcoholic, I am always looking for ways to serve others that cannot ingest alcohol for whatever the reason. I make glycerin tinctures now, but it often takes too long to be able to keep clients. People in general have immediate needs and cannot or will not wait if there is an alternative. I can be of much better service thanks to the knowledge that you have shared. Again, thank you!
So I make my elderberry syrup with dried elderberries, and vegetable glycerin and water of equal amounts. Ex: 2 cups of distilled water to 2 cups of vegetable glycerin, and about a 1/2 cup to 3/4 cups of dried elderberries to a mason jar, shake and place in a cool dark place for 4 to 6 weeks. I'm just wondering why you don't add water during your process. Do you feel that it makes it more concentrated? Which would kinda make sense, but the only downside is that you use more vegetable glycerin, and vegetable glycerin can get pretty expensive. I would love to bere your take on this.😊
Thank you for sharing this beautiful plant medicine. Yes I agree, we need to return to women taking care of women and it's so important to know thyself, too often women look up to 'masculine' authority figures in white lab coats to tell them what to do with their own bodies 🌿🌼💖
When I taught in a program for survivors of domestic violence, the teachers and participants all received an orchid as a reminder of our strength and resilience.
I think when it comes to herbalists and healers its all about relationships. Our intuition come from connection to plants, animals, people. Now, if i just need information on something i don't know alot about, then I'll gladly use AI.
Thank you for sharing this chat. I do remember when herbalists came together to defend folk medicine, that was just a ridiculous idea of that company trying to trademark fire cider and thank goodness they lost
Wonderful chat on chai, I love Camelia sinensis and have been drinking it's many varieties for decades. I went on a road trip in northern India many years ago and we stopped at roadside shops on our way to Nepal. Chai was made very simple, sometimes just black tea, buffalo milk, cardamom & ginger a lots of sugar served in small clay cups where you'd just smash them on the ground after you were done.
I definitely prefer dowsing by trusting my own higher self to find answers to questions I have about myself or others. Honestly I do consider the zyto scan an AI tool, also it is limiting in finding a solution to someone's health problem because the data base is limited to selecting whatever programs you purchased- that's how I see it and good question- not many herbalists or health practitioners consider to ask for all kinds of reasons
My favourite plant medicine! I've been making St. John's Wort/ St. Joan's Wort tincture & oil for 3 summers now and love using the oil for sore muscles & as a natural sunscreen and take the tincture as an anti-viral. When I read any studies on this plant, the side effects such as sun sensitivity are usually due to ingesting the dried form in tea or capsules so I just avoid taking it that way.
I am a Licensed Holistic Practitioner. Can you send me a message via my website? www.sheephillherbs.com I can email you links for Herbalist certifications, and how to get Licensed with the PWA.
Love your combination of books and stories, enjoyed this video. Good to know that mugwort also helps some people to sleep deeper as I had already heard of the potential for disturbed sleep. I will be trying mugwort in summer when she flowers, I found some between agricultural land and the coast, hope I can spot some more closer to me.
SOMETIMES my videos are teasers. I have a 10 month course that I offer for people who want to really learn about herbs with me. I see my videos as a way to get to know my teaching style.
