watched the 20:48 bit over and over again "so you can all blame yourselves for perpetuating it" hahahaha. this is my first video of yours but i love you already!
Pearls and Jades/N'Joy are difficult to keep alive. I lost four beautiful huge trailing ones. They like Spring and Summer weather. Putting them outside is the only way I could save the few cuttings I was able to scrape together.
You have me downloading Tik Tok trying to find new content from you. You plant videos keep my attention and I need plant videos that keep my attention!
Lowe’s, WM, Home Depot, etc. only pay the commercial nurseries for the plants actually sold. It’s basically commission sales. So dead plants or even healthy seasonal plants like holiday cactus get dumped and taken off the invoice. A friend had to quit her Garden Center job at Lowe’s after she was instructed to dump flats of healthy plants to make room for new merchandise. She did it under protest then quit later. Their contracts w the wholesale nurseries ban employees from rescuing these plants and also limit the mark-downs the store is able to apply. And yes, they monitor the dumpsters with surveillance.
Hello I like your channel. I have one question that has bugged me for years. Here they sell these sort of false bottom pots, where there is a water reservoir on the bottom, the difference to this method that the pot is not removed from the water but instead water stays there and rises to the dirt due to capillary action. I have always wondered how do the roots get oxygen if the water stays on the bottom for a long time? I am afraid that the roots will start to rot if they grow into the water.
I think pricy plants like these are like luxuries, they can be a symbol of status. Showing everyone else that you're able to care for a lot of these plants imply that you: have the spare money to pay for them; have a big enough home to have the spare space to grow them; have the spare time to care for them; have the spare energy to learn about them; have "superior" taste than others. Such sentiment has been directed to countless other commodities, rare aroids are just a recent example.
Love your humor! Quick question for you. I need my light to be a flexible light strip due to how my setup looks like. Do you think COB LED lights would work well as grow lights? I have found some that are 5000 kelvin and 5000 lumens. They run on just a 12V 5A power supply.
i'm not sure where people got the impression that you needed high quality grow lights to grow house plants. those are not intended for house plants at all. lol and normal leds from home depot will not provide the energy or par level required for the said plants to produce anything worth the time spent. i always thought this was common knowledge till i started reading the comments.
True story, Nick has already written and shot another video it's just that he does so much editing that he's only halfway done with the 4.5 million cuts. I will wait patiently. (That includes the exhaustive thesaurus search for every word in the video). Love you bud.
I feel so late to this party! I had no idea what I was missing. I'm really glad you are here, making videos and not being serious... Except for the part about the poisonous centipede piñata. You were serious about that part, for sure... Ik cos I filled that order for you.. And the chest bags... we all have chest bags 😂❤❤
