Avid off-road rock crawler out of Utah. I caught the Jeep bug after a trip to Moab and haven’t looked back. Join my adventures as I tackle the top rated Jeep trail!
Thanks Jessie, tackled this today with your help! Made the same mistakes jumping ahead of you but caught it when finished watching the process! Good video look forward to more content
It was all I could handle that day with my clearance. I run fusion 4x4 axles. Front is a 60 and rear is a 14 bolt shaved to 13 bolts. My tires are 40” Mickey Thompson Baja boss. I have a 6” lift on it too
Optioned out the super joint on the new axle. Been solid on the first round of trails. No issues so far. Wanted to try them vs going back to an RCV. Do you know the strength comparaison with the RCV though?
I’m betting the rcv will have a stronger rating that they would market. Likely due to their marketing that it’s equally strong at all angles. Most wheelers don’t push it too hard at extreme angles out where I am so I’m not sure the practical difference
I have Fusion axles too and have been told I will probably never break an axle so need to buy or carry a spare and even if I did they would exchange the broken one for free. This just shows that is not always the best advice. I would hate to spend all the time and money to go do a trip like this and have it end early cause I wasn’t prepared. Did you order the spare you had from Fusion?
Im about to drop the money for the GR corner armor. My issue is deciding which taillights i want. Lol. For mine they will get cut up a fair ammount vecause i already have the side armor and fenders from metalcloak. Im gonna cut the GR ppates so the two meet flush.
Wow, there are some tough obstacles on that trail. Definitely one I want to go try. I noticed there was no one else with you guys on this trail. With the event going on, did they just send you off on your own and didn't have a trail guide? Obviously, you guys are capable of doing it without a guide but just wondering how that event works.
We did this event like most, some with the group and some on our own. That was the one that we rolled in that morning and wanted to take on at our own pace. They run it but usually leave earlier in the morning due to the long drive
I watch your videos so the theory only men watch your videos is thrown out lol. I am not looking forward on replacing this. I lost the use of all my steering controls (excluding the cruise control buttons) and the horn. I have been told that it is the cork spring. Thanks for the video.
I'm tight with you. Need to replace my wifes clock spring. Just did all the wheel speed sensors yesterday (what mad man thought up those placements) and found this vid. I think I need some torx drivers before I get into it. I'll get some tomorrow. Since my durangon is down, this is our only driver so I have tonplan ripping into it.
Thanks for the video! I have an 18 JKU and have found that with the Clayton tank skid the driveshaft hits the skid. Currently doing a little fab work on the skid ad goping it will have enough clearance but if not its getting a rear tank. My biggest concern was track bar clearance and if it would work with the metalcloak evap canister kit. Now i know!
@@krawlerkingdomthanks. So you don't have any issues with check engine lights etc? Someone mentioned if there's a speraric reading from the level it'll throw a code.
I considered the swap for a bit but since it’s solely a trail rig, its benefits are not used as much. I’m going to try a couple things more but there might be a rebuild video coming 😂
@krawlerkingdom Even in a trail rig it has huge benefits. Lower 1st gear, ect. The big benefit is the ability to delete all your speed sensors, anti lock brakes and tc. You can also run automatic lockers like a detroit. The 8 speed has a tone ring in the transmission.
I’m going to get Widow maker I just need to get my front end a little more stable on steep climbs. That’s part of dialing in the Coilovers and relearning my rig with the new stuff. It might be awhile but one day.
Great video. Good editing. Tips: change the title = get more views! “Jeep almost rolls on Kane creek 2024” Possibly start some build process if you can, people love to watch a story line. Keep it up and stay consistent and your channel with grow!
Those ball joint delete kits sucks . Don’t get them and put them on a daily driver vehicle. I had them in my gladiator for about 3 months they where so squeaky and annoying and the steering was never rt
It was one hour after opening. That said, it’s been much slower this year all around in my opinion. Seems like less attendance with all the open lodging I’m seeing
@@discover4x4 there have been some factors at play in Moab. The event has gotten more mild compared to the olden days. The sentiment of some here that they don’t want off-road visitors hasn’t helped. That’s had people boycotting Moab. I can to support the people showing up. Procyon site and solid discounts can go a long way. Vendors are also closing pretty early on Friday and not open Saturday so people are likely just skipping it
