Thank you, thank you, after watching your video, I know what I need to do, my kitchen is rather warm, do have another room to do piping. I was cheering for the cotton gloves all the way,
I love having a second area to do all of my piping and decorating in. It makes all the difference not trying to do delicate temperature sensitive work like that in a space that is just too hot!
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you do all of this work to help everyone. I have to get the cotton gloves. My hand always stay hot. Even in the air conditioning. 😂. I am going to try and get a marble cutting board. I would have never thought of that.
You are so welcome! I was surprised at how well the cotton/fabric gloves worked and I loved the little textured grips on them. The marble is a clutch piece for me it really helps resting the bags on something cool. So glad you enjoyed it!
so glad you found us and are finding our channel helpful! Keep it up and keep going progress with skills like this just take time, practice and a bit of experimenting. My first job out of school was decorating cookies and those first few months were full of feedback and mistakes. Try framing mistakes and imperfections as opportunities to make progress with your work and goals to focus on. Just keep going and know we are cheering you on!

Both fondant and gumpaste are edible in that they are made with ingredients that are edible. However many people don't like the texture of fondant especially when eaten with cake(it's a bit like chewing gum. Gumpste when dry is very hard so while it is technically edible I wouldn't eat it as it not going to be a pleasant experience and I would be afraid for my teeth. if you are curious about the taste you can always try a bit straight out of the pail while it's still soft, it just has a sweet flavor.
Hi! We are using a simple or American style buttercream in this video. There are many recipes available online for this type of buttercream. We reserve our recipe for our paid students. This video has set me on the part of not being frustrated and discouraged when writing with frosting. Learning letter parts is a game changer for me. Thanks you for sharing ❤
Glad it was helpful! Writing in frosting can be tricky and it takes some practice. It sounds like you've made a big step towards upping your skills! I always recommend doing some practicing on a parchment lined tray. as well It will help you build your confidence before you start working on cakes! Good luck with the piping and decorating!
Loved the video thank you. I have attempted to make my own but my buttercream just isnt as stiff as yours to hold the shape. Could you share your recipe for the american buttercream please 🙏. X

the get colors will work for coloring water. Just keep in mind that food coloring can color skin just like it does teeth and tongues when you eat something with coloring it in and it may take some time and a few washes to go away..
I really like the height and airy look of this one so much. It is so cool the way you mixed those colors and it all came together in the light creamy neutral pinkish color. Absolutely love it.
aww thanks Jennifer! this is one of my favs too and I love playing with the colors on the petals and getting cool barely there blends they always look so natural, which, I love. have a great weekend!
@@CakeDecoratingSchool I do to. All of your flowers are so natural looking. Your study of them makes such a difference. You can see the attention to detail in all of them. Thank you so much, you as well.

con tus enseñanzas haces sueños realidad, estaba lejos de tener un conocimiento exacto con respecto alas flores de mantequilla me siento muy agradecida
I love how thorough you are with your explanations and demonstrations! I just got hired to be a cake decorator (with zero experience, but I do have an artist/graphic design background). I get to train as an apprentice with the company for 5 weeks and I will definitely be watching a whole bunch of your videos for a while!
You are so welcome! and Congrats on the new job! Some of my fav hires over the years were people.just like you. The background you have has a lot of skills that can be translated and applied to cake decorating! Best of luck and we'll be cheering you on!
oh yes and with daisies and a few other flowers as well. We always had the goofy white clover blossoms in our yard and they were perfect for necklaces. I do love the color of the crimson ones thou and I wish we had some of those.
You are so welcome! I love having a good roster of simple and small filler flowers that are easy to make since they can really balance out an arrangement. Glad you like them!
we are using buttercream so you can't just work indefinitely with that the heat from your hands will make it melty even when your working in a cool room. If you want to be able to practice for long stretches with less interruption you can always work with royal icing , no butter means no melting, but your flowers will get hard when they dry which isn't the best thing texture wise when eaten but does mean they can be made ahead and stored. good luck with your practicing!

If it's just nerves giving you the skies then keep practicing as your confidence grows your hands will steady. If you justness more support make sure you are using two hands when you pipe and try setting your self up so that you can brace your forearms on the table or another surface for extra stability. I can't always use both hands when I'm teaching since my left will block the camera but try putting your index finger of your non dominate hand on the coupler to help steady your motions.
Baking is a wonderful hobby and passion that lots of people turn into a source of extra income. If you want to bake some cakes as part of that journey then this is a great book that covers lots of cake methods and styles of buttercreams and even some decorative instruction. It's one of many books on cakes and baking I own and I always find new helpful bits. in it, you might too!
@@CakeDecoratingSchool i am persuing my carrer as bakery chef i done my training from Marriott hotel chain and doing my degree in hotel management and i just wanna know it is knowledgeable book for enhance my knowledge about cakes and pastries
Grrr I just knew you were gonna use a 59, I have so much problems with this one. HAHA, I need to practice with it more so this will be the time. I love the little leaf. Ahh you make it all look so easy. How do you keep your icing from getting to warm, I guess my hands are really warm and I have to stop and place it in the refrigerator for a while. I have heard gloves would help, do you have any ideas?
I love my little 59! But if it's not your fave you can always break out the 81, the petals will be just a bit bigger. we keep the ac on and if I wasn't filming I would def use gloves and the ac plus a few other tricks. I actually made a video about how I deal with hot hands and we tested out a few types of gloves. It is on the roster for this summer!
@@CakeDecoratingSchool That’s great, I can not wait for your tips and tricks!! I just can not seem to get the right pressure for it. Maybe it’s the consistency of my buttercream, heck maybe both 🤷♀️.
