WACA should of been transferred to Subiaco. Thar way cricket and other sports could sports could of been played there. They could of then sold the WACA area. This way Perth would of still had 2 stadiums.
Weird piece of trivia but that white line shown at 14:30 was the line that smokers had to cross before they lit a cigarette. I worked there as a kid and my job was to tell drunk blokes smoking that the needed to move to the other side of the white line 😂
I can tell you exactly how you could’ve gotten inside. Around the back where the buses would drop gear there was a staircase up. You climbed that, jumped up on the barrier and stepped over into the smoking area. I saw pearl jam, Metallica and oasis that way.
When i visited Harvey, i remember speaking to a lady who worked in a gift shop aboit the POW camps there, she also told me that the olive farms were originally owned by the Italian POWs, who after the War ended returned and bought land to farm.
