I remember seeing these cars new in the showroom - they had a gray/silver X5M well option - the sticker was 106k or 108k i believe for back then you could buy a house for that kind of money. I ended up buying a new E90 back then - but the sales guy was really trying to talk me into buying a new E70 X5 - which i passed on - i now have a '12 X5 35D and love the car more than my new '24 Ram power wagon (2 very different vehicles). The build quality is leagues ahead of anything from CDJR. X5M is a special car.
Not for the lazy listener, expecting flavor blasted goldfish off the first lick. This is a little more subtle & gentle on the taste buds. Every bit as good as the other stuff- better even. But you gotta slow down & let it settle in to appreciate all flavors here. Kind of reminds me of a hot summer day in my basement in 2008 with my boys. Spending the day scouring soundclick for beats until we find something like this & just zone out. Then, like magic, a hook comes to mind & the next thing we, know lyrics hit the notebook paper so seamlessly that it feels like we're just the conduit for some external force that gifted us the words to match the groove. Graciously, we all accept. Cue up the pro tools basic package that we could afford & lay it all down. We feel like we conquered the world. In truth, we'll be lucky if 100 people ever hear what we created but we're ambitious. We caught the flow & we believe. We post it to our myspace pages, producer tags & all- we were broke as hell. We ask a few people we know to check it out & share it if they like it. We're blown away that we got about 1,000 plays, collectively & 20 solid comments. I miss those days. I hope more people get to hear this.
Great video. I still want to drive one, and I know I'd love it - but there is too much risk in being an early adopter. These are going to see big discounts off msrp in my opinion, within the next 6 months ($5k off I'm sure). I know the I5N is considerably larger than the model 3 performance, but if you qualify for the tax credit, the new m3p is insane value at basically $20k less. Yes, the tesla has zero soul or passion compared to this, but thats a big gap in price. I5N has a very niche market - and I'm in it, and even still can't push myself to make the decision to take the leap - financially not worth the risk.
I haven’t driven the m3p yet but I know the I5N has multiple personalities with lots of character. The sounds makes you feel more engaged than without the sound. I can see Ford and Dodge copying this. Especially Dodge. Borla has an exhaust for the Mach E
I wouldn’t pay more than 50k for this! More or fewer features don’t matter. It’s an EV, and no hate, but there are many combustion engine cars that are faster and sound better. This car is going to fail! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: they should put a reasonable price tag on it!
This is a pretty decent and elaborate review bro. Loved listening to it! I'm about to put my order down for this car, just wanted to share my story, perhaps that will help others. So, I'm in the European market (Netherlands), so indeed, the HUD comes standard. The sun roof is actually the only option on the list, I will not select it, as it does not open and is just extra weight. I have a sun roof in my current car (VW Arteon Shooting Brake) and dont really see the benefit of it tbh. If I buy this car, it will actually be a business lease (leasing through the company I work for). That solves the whole "will it still be something worth after a while" issue. I trade it in after 4 years. Also, due to lease, it comes with winter tires, so that problem sort of solves itself. The fact that the seats are manual is totally fine for me. In Europe I guess fully electric seats with memory is still pretty much a luxury function, so I've never had it. Also, I'm the one doing most of the driving, so will hardly ever adjust the seat. I'm actually happy they chose this setup, because the reason it;s not electric is so that the chairs can be lower. With a relative high/big car, I'm happy they keep the seats as low as possible. I do agree with the fact that on a longer drive they might become a bit uncomfortable, have driven it for an hour and was also a bit on the fence... You mention: Not sure I would pay 70K for a Hyundai; what you failed to mention is that Albert Bierman (former BMW M specialist) and Tyrone Johnson (former Ford Performance VP who made the Drift mode on the Focus RS) built this car, so that's basically a BMW, Ford, Hyundai N mix up - indeed making it 3 cars in one. That is totally worth 70 K (73K Euro in Netherlands). Then; I was able to get it to drive in automatic gear shifting with the sound, so not the weird one gear thing you mentioned. Not sure how I did that though with a million features haha. Long story short: I understand most of your points. Some of them are not relevant for me due to the leasing option. Price wise, its a bit more expensive then my VW, but totally worth it looking at driving fun. It will be my Daily Driver. Ow btw, I'm picking the Ecotronic gray, as it looks stealthy, and I'm thinking I will sick of the blue after a while. Could you elaborate on they key thing you mentioned? Is it prone to get stolen in the US with some hacking tech? Thanks again for your review, loved every minute of it!
Hey thanks for the awesome response! I agree with you the lease is the way to go on this. I mention in the video that I have a truck and a GT, and I couldn't figure out which one to replace. For 70k, there are a lot of options for replacing my Maserati GT, even something like a manual Porsche would be preferred over the I5N to replace it. I think the long term play on EV is leasing as the smartest thing to do. As for 70k on a Hyundai, the fact that these things are not selling at all makes me pause. Remember my point about the dealer markup? They took 7k off the car after our first negotiation. I also didn't say in the video, but the dealer straight up told me "Hey this car is a one of one, and since it's limited, we're charging 7k more for it than MSRP". I did mention that I lost momentum for my purchase when they pushed that markup on me, and that's true. All the joy of driving the car made me realise "damn this is why people don't like dealerships"
@@PradigyMusicman cheers for your answer! Yeah, the markup thing is very sad. I guess that’s not really a thing here, at least not for new cars at official dealers. They need to sell for the common price. Thank god for that, because indeed adding random numbers to the price should indeed be a turn off. I personally dislike EV’s because of the range anxiety, but looking at lease, there is no other car that offers this fun for the price, within my lease options. There is currently a 6 Month delivery time, our dealers here say they have sold some already. There are currently 15 in the Netherlands and an additional 100 will be delivered. I do expect all of them to sell. Ordering mine tomorrow, will see what happens when it comes… haha
@@PradigyMusicman yes. Which will mean drive to the office 2 days a week and some client locations once/twice a week. Groceries and some family visits. Curious if I’m still enjoying it after a year
@@willemvermaak4388 that was going to be the same cadence I would have for the I5N. I think you’ll love the variety of the car’s driving modes. I hope they send OTA updates to allow more sounds. I do have a video of the external speaker and it’s not loud at all. I may put it up as a short
I can't believe North American prices are that expensive. It doesn't make sense to not have a HUD. I thought of course it would be included. I'm Korean, and after watching your video, I went to the Hyundai website and used Build My Car to calculate an estimate. I have included all the possible options. Including all taxes and shipping costs, 82M won came out, which is 62k based on 1360 won/$1. Are tariffs expensive? Since there are no dealerships in Korea, we can buy with MSRP. Subsidies are not taken into account.
Enthusiasts who live with 4 seasons rotate their tires with winter tires during cold months and go drifting in the snow 😉. Or as you said get all season tires and deal with drop in performance. You can always add additional cushion to the seat if it’s too firm for you. As far as moon roof and HUD goes, it’s a bummer if you like them, but the prices of the 5N in other markets that have them are significantly higher. Hyundai should have made them optional in the US. The 5N is hardly barebones BTW. I can’t think of any other EV or ICE vehicle with 650 hp with all the features, utility, and comfort for under $70k. I’m planning getting the 5N or 6N in the near future. I love Italian sports cars, but they are the most unreliable I’ve ever driven. I wish people stop stating I can’t justify $70k for a Hyundai. You’re stuck in the past and being a brand snob. Asses a car for what it is regardless of the brand. I will never buy another German car, especially BMW, because they nickel and dime you for everything and are some of the most unreliable cars.
I had a Chrysler with transmission issues at 48k 💀 I switched to a Camry and I can’t believe how much more reliable but I’m wanting a pickup now and these f150s with them 10 speeds add an exhaust and maybe something wild later on it’ll be a race truck which is wildly cool!! I enjoyed the video keep it up!!
I stored my 08 GT in Burlington VT in the winter and would go and start it once a month without a battery tender. Sold it after driving it 20k miles. Why, because the dreaded clatter camshaft variators clattered one time! estimates were 9-12k to fix. Car was great and will be buying another one soon.
It makes sense now. That is why trap music (maybe one of tthe worst genre of music in history ever) has been on "the top of the game" for more than a decade. My theory is that non-black people are pumping lots of money into this type of genre trying to destroy the hip-hop genre because they are tired of actual hip-hop being on top of the game for many years so they have invested alot of money on untaleted rappers likeYoung Thugm Migos or Cardi B.
You bought the wring car my man….if you’re complaining about the stereo and the infotainment? You definitely bought the wrong car….buy a KIA i hear those have tons of tech
I have a Kia ev6, Ftype, xk, and Gran Turismo. The Kia def clowns both with it's tech lol. Speed is also similar, but noise and looks make the coupes worth it
I have a 2010 QP...... these cars are very misunderstood...... first of all they make absolutely no sense: would you like to a performance limousine driven by a chauffeur that has a coke problem? would you like to be collected from the airport in total luxury and then get driven away like you're leaving the scene of a crime? very unlikely...... but Luca Montezemolo has commissioned a car that fits the bill.... 😂😂
Thank you for this test demo I bought this unit to practice with my bro in law that plays electric drums and it works fine but the sound quality I changed the wire headset to a Sony and that really makes a huge difference
@@JPort561 when people talk about the music industry they're always referring to this upper echelon million dollar hollywood ideal , Being independent and making money is not a hard thing to do. What it seems is a lot of the time people are looking for status rather than being true to artistic integrity being unable to be true to themselves is noticeable to the ear. I have to disagree but I think there's plenty of money in the music industry
You’ve made a lot of good points. It’s all about who you know, not talent. Conscious emcees for example never make it. It isn’t because people don’t fine them “entertaining”, it’s simply because the elites at the top don’t want the truth out there and they want to keep people dumbed down.
