As an ND fan this was a heartbreaker but expected with it being BK’s first year. The Irish have fared pretty well against Sparty ever since this game. Glad this rivalry is being revived!
Cornelius Greene: TERRIBLE passer. He doesn’t even have proper mechanics for throwing a pass. Resembles Vince Young or Lamar Jackson or Cam Newton throwing the ball..
I miss that pre-game music. To me ABC college football was IT. This was a great game. I lived on the same floor with Bob Guiney the year before in Akers Hall. I ran into him at the 7-11 downtown East Lansing after the game. I can remember MSU being 14 point dogs but I knew we had a really good team based on how we should've beaten Notre Dame earlier in the year. And that weekend had the best autumnal weather I have EVER experienced but too bad I was back home in Detroit having to attend classes on both Friday and Saturday for getting pinched on a DUI the year before. It was either this weekend or Thanksgiving weekend and I chose this weekend. I still regret it.
Sparty, I have no skin in this game. I am sure the breaks evened out over the years or maybe that day. That was about as bad a missed call as you will ever see.
I’m a Louisville Fan…and this is one of the most heartbreaking losses I’ve had as a fan…we had the best team in country…and I thought we should have won it all…but on that day I give Coach Izzo and The Spartans credit… they shut us down…it was very rare for a Pitino U of L Team to have 0 fast break points… and Sutton killed us
im a hawkeye fan but i watch this from time to time such a great game both teams deserved to win was such a heartbreak but was still very proud of this team
watched “trouble with the snap” live with my family when i was little and ill never forget how glued to our seats we were and then everyone exploded in joy craziest sports moment ive ever seen live
Watching this takes me back to that night! Me, my Dad, my Son and Daughter were all at this game to share in the wonder of "One Shining Moment" ! We had been attending MSU BigTen and NCAA Tournament games together since 1979! Lots of memories for the 4 of us! 🎉🏀❤🎉
The next year at the game in Spartan stadium a UM supporter said to me that all this play meant was that MSU could run for 10 seconds. I told him, that’s all we needed. The stunned look on his face was priceless.
