"Travelling through hyperspace ain't like dustin' crops boy! Without precise calculations, we'd fly right through a star or bounce to close to a supernova, and that would end your trip real quick wouldn't it?" Gotta love George's clumsy dialogue. Mr. Ford should have gotten an Academy Award for reciting that line so fluidly.
no matter how hard they try to sell new lensflare action trek .. to me this is pure movie star trek .. engaging , exciting , powerful scenes by real actors and properly timed space battles .. combined with perfect music TWOK 4 life
An outpost, a human presence on the outskirts of the Federation is cowardly attacked and Kirk responds accordingly, getting rid of the hostiles. Sounds familiar? Bibi Netanyahu is the new Kirk.
If this was Pickard he would say, " Khan, perhaps we can beam over and discuss this. You should be ashamed of yourself." Too which Khan would see hes a whimp and blow up the Enterprise ORRR if Khan was in a good mood he would say 60 Seconds. Pickard would then say... SUGGESTIONS #1. Mr Data Suggestions.... He would ask everyone for suggestions and make some Earl Grey!
I never noticed before how Kirk stopped himself from saying something after the Commanders comment about "one more duty to perform." Subtle detail that Kirk and the Commander truly understand each other. Kirk new trying to talk him out of self-destruction was useless.
If they were passing through a comet tail, they would be nearing a star, in a solar system. They said they were traveling at warp speed, which makes all that impossible.
Honestly, the sequel replacement for Darth Vader is in his own way, more intimidating than Vader. While Vader was always cold as a cucumber, and a strict and unforgiving boss, he was at least predictable. Here, Kylo Ren is a massive mood swinger. He can be cold as a cucumber one moment, and anything could make him fly off the handle the next, where you have to be even more careful around him.
Docking Bay 94 was a perfectly good docking bay till Han started shooting up the ceiling. Seriously. Did Han hit any of the stormtroopers? Why are all the the troopers collapsing to the ground before any debris even hits them? It was nice of Han to give Wuher the bartender some compensation money for shooting a hole through his table, but he caused much more damage to the docking bay.
The entire score for the film is just incredible from beginning to end, particularly this track. From the beginning, the crescendo is just a masterpiece, especially the climax, when they show the Enterprise in orbit of Regula, and the Reliant on the other side. The score and the visuals make this absolutely epic.
They said they were going to beam aboard and stop it, which would mean the transporters work onboard the Enterprise. So why not beam the Genesis device off the Reliant and then beam the matter (un-constructed) out into open space?
I can only conclude that the Mutara Nebula was an orbiting dust cloud around a nascent star that had yet to coalesce into planets. The Genesis Device sped up that process and took all the matter in the cloud and collapsed it away to reveal the star that anchored that dark swirl we see inside the nebula.
