This is my fifth attempt at writing a comment on this discussion because I want to try and be open and fair to everyone involved both in the video and the comments. This is not intended as a partisan attempt to persuade anyone one way or the other but to the put the facts as I see them from the research I've done into the creation of modern Israel in a non-emotional way. If I am wrong or I offend or annoy anyone then please put counter arguments to the points I'm making so I can learn. What happened to the Jews in Europe in WW2 was terrible. But it did not give them a free pass to move en masse into another country and steal land and property by force, which is what happened. There was no "right to return" because most of them had never been there, they had no claim on the land which had been conquered many times before the Romans destroyed the Second Temple in 70 AD. Conquered territory is seen legally as legitimately belonging to the conquerors, if it is not then Israel must be returned immediately to the Canaanites, Philistines (Palestinians) who clearly have a prior claim (it says so in the Torah) and therefore a right to return. Once that has happened I guess we can start with returning the USA to the native Americans etc etc. This is the root of the problem, land theft. Not anti-semtism. Not the second world war. Israel was created when it should not have been by force and the problem will never be solved until that is addressed somehow. If you don't address it all you have is endless conflict and whataboutery while Israelis are given a free pass to take more and more land that does not belong to them. Or until someone in the Islamic Middle East gets hold of nukes or effective long range missiles and we have a war of annihilation. That is what history tells us. I'm still not happy with this effort but I can't go on changing it.

At 1:38:26 the Arab slave trade was mentioned. My hometown is Brixham in Devon, where William of Orange was carried ashore by a local. Now all around the SW peninsula coastal towns were raided by Barbary slavers known as Corsairs. Whole villages were sometimes taken, apart from the elderly or infirm. For instance, in 1645, around 200 men, women and children were abducted by a big slave raid near Fowey in Cornwall and taken as slaves to North Africa. Ripped from their beds in the dead of night to be taken back to the North African slave ports of Algiers, Tunis and Tripoli. Torbay, where Brixham is located, is a natural shelter from storms blowing in from the West off of the Atlantic. If the slavers had to shelter from the weather they'd simply toss their captives into the sea so they could pose as innocent traders. If reparations are paid to African Americans then should we here in SW Britain also be paid? I have a friend from Mauritius, she is of Indian descent as her forebears were taken to Mauritius, tricked by British slavers into getting on the ships. Indenture was outlawed in 1917, but should she be paid also? Slavery wasn't just the Atlantic slave trade from Africa to American run sugar & cotton plantations that we were taught about in school. It's been a global phenomenon since time immemorial and we'd all be paying each other three times over if you go back to the last ice age!

There's no way all of these problems from lockdowns to mandates to immigration issues to "race issues" happen across the entire western world at the same time - it's not possible - we're all being manipulated...even these half released police videos with further footage of the event days or weeks later - it's all happening in the US as well

After the 3 girls were killed in Southport, on the night of the girls vigil, I remember seeing the footage of yobs rioting and attacking the mosque and setting fires, cheering and laughing, long before they even knew the identity of the killer, now they were scum, no excuse and obviously didn't give a shit about the poor kids who died.
There is a moral obligation not to riot. But we do not have a moral obligation to spout platitudes and pretend we are happy with our lands being settled by foreigners. The current public discourse around this is bizarre and historically unprecedented.

@@patmann9363 The Celts resisted the Romans and the Anglo Saxons. And the English resisted the normans and vikings. most US soldiers went home. Many of them are of english stock anyway. The public did not welcome european jewry. That was part of the reason why people backed the state of israel to get rid of them. Irish immigration caused a lot of terrorism but they are arguably fairly close to our people anyway. Not sure about French Catholics more like French Hugeonots (Protestants) - who again were very similar to the natives anyway but I am sure caused issues and the natives had every interest in resisting their presence. The Royals have a familial connection to the Wessex Royal family along with the Scottish etc. Either way people have every interest in resisting foreign settlement, the more foreign the more interest they have in doing so

we have had no vision for the country after the collapse of the British Empire after WW2. the scramble to join the EU (of which De Gaulle turned down our membership 3 times) to give the country a sense of belonging never worked. So we drifted towards aligning more with the Americans, probably by virtue of a common language more than anything. However we have longer, deeper roots with the Netherlands and France than with America. We need to find a common island story again that everyone can galvanise around
I ought to say when talking of the French, it was more a reference to the plantagenet kings and customs than the place. After all we fought many a war against the French and Spanish. We are an island and as such have that attitude and maritime outlook.
I can't see this country swinging hard right, all the institutions are far left. Whether that's government, universities, the police, the NHS. They all have a forced "progressive" policy, you can get fired very easily today for saying anything against DEI policy, the NHS even said you'd be refused service for being a racist (something I agree with but just pointing it out as something that's definitely not far right). My personal concern is the erosion of our freedoms and the complete overreach of government, the idea that someone watching a riot can be put into custody is beyond dystopian and is not the Britain we should ever be aiming for. What seems to be happening to me is that those in power are looking to stoke division between communities by implementing divisive policy in order to further implement legislature to grow the government's power over its citizens, a very early stage of tyranny.
