The frames for "everything you loved" with Misha and Noel and "and everything you've dreamed" with Ricky have already been caught, but no one has mentioned how Ocean and Constance look at each other with the lyrics "and everything you've feared". Ocean looks at Constance because she is afraid that if she dies now she would die an unaccomplished loser like how she predicted Constance to die. Constance looks at Ocean because she is afraid of realizing too late that Ocean had the right idea about pushing for something greater instead of choosing a simple life.
1:06 This is a great animatic but at this part specifically I love how you fit the lyrics so well, for example Misha with hopes bc he wished to meet the love of his life and marry her, Noel with thoughts bc he was constantly in his head about this different life and Ricky with dreams bc he was always dreaming up a new fantasy it’s just so perfect.
Why is no one talking about the fact that Hunter is Pinocchio? He was a clone, so basically not a “real” witch (he had red eyes and couldn’t do magic) but after he d!ed and came back to life his eyes changed colors and he had Flapjacks magic 🪄 … Flapjack made him a real boy
I love how this song fits Hunter so darn well. Hunter has such admirable traits that would lead him to flourish in the right environment, but he is kept from developing by a regime that exploits those same traits to keep him a compliant asset. That part of his story fits the concept of the song so well it’s like it was written for him.
This is an amazing animatic, so many great little details like Constance’s brief look of regret and all of their faces slowly falling at “we will never leave this town at all.” And I love all of the dead-end character you put into Uranium itself. I love how varied the perspectives were, everything was wonderfully drawn! You have serious skill.
Got me to finish watching the owl house with this animatic, worried there'd be a spoiler at the end (there was not), so thanks for getting me to watch the last season! I'm going to go sue Disney for emotional damages for forcing them to end this show in a rush!
I know this isn’t canon AT ALL, but I like to think about maybe Jane Doe wasn’t on the cyclone at all and was instead hit by the cart when it crashed down. I know it doesn’t make since paired with a lot of lyrics and words in the musical, BUT JUST IMAGINE.
This is beautiful!!! I love the song, and paired with your skillful animation and adorable art style it's simply AMAZING! I wish Huntlow was more appreciated, it's an amazing ship!
I love how bittersweet their faces are at the beginning. They seem to be enjoying performing, but they don't love the town as much as the lyrics suggest. By the time their performance ends, Mischa looks absolutely disgusted, Noel is depressed, Ricky is sad, and even Constance and Ocean look disappointed.
I can taste the "The Owl House" in your art style. (THIS IS LITERALLY PERFECT THIS IS EVERYTHING TO ME I HOLD THIS VIDEO AND ANIMATIC VERY CLOSE AND DEAR TO MY HEART I LOVE HOW YOU DRAW THEM SPECIALLY NOEL IM GOING TO HAVE ADJDHF BB GJF STROKE)
0:32 everyone's talking about it, and rightfully so. the zoom in onto the word "home" made me physically grimace. THIS right here. this dilemma was what first drew me into the owl house, and this animatic brought me right back to it. being forced to choose between your "true" home and your *true* home is such a tricky thing, something that i relate to all too well. you know you'll break someone's heart either way; you end up having to make the unfortunate decision between your kin and yourself, and that can be impossible to do. watching camila's heartbreak firsthand as she sees luz's decision by accident is just... god. i need to rewatch this show.
holy shit i got the FATTEST chills when flapjack appeared (1:07). flapjack and luz really were hunter's true "wings and [] eyes," or his path to freedom and truth in the real world. i absolutely love how you flipped belos' lie* (that hunter has a "world where [he] can take flight; where [he] can freely move") into a different truth with the introduction of luz. hunter *does* have a world waiting for him; just not the one he was brought up to believe in as the golden guard. *when i first listened to the original song before finding this animatic through a commenter, i always interpreted the bird to be lying to the fish. i'm glad this was expressed with emperor belos lying to hunter about his true purpose as the golden guard. (0:48) also, hunter telling belos "you gave me more than i could ask for: indistinguishability" (1:56) IS SO AMAZING. when i realized how well that line fits hunter, i got a second fit of chills HAHA. i feel like in hunter saying, "you gave me more than i could ask for," it's kind of an ironic callback to belos' initial promise that hunter had a world that was waiting for him, which hunter now realizes was a total lie. by then saying, "indistinguishability," he's truly saying sarcastically, "you really gave me the free world you promised me, belos--after lying about me being a grimwalker and making a fool out of me" (with "indistinguishability" referring to the fact that he is a clone). based on hunter's facial expression toward willow, this interpretation wasn't your intention, but it still blew my mind when it came to me and i thought i'd share. anyway. holy shit. this animatic is amazing, can't believe i didn't check out your other stuff sooner (i've seen your other animatic "hunter's first day" but that's all). i'll have a looksee!
Because the amount of comments is getting a little annoying, yes! The style does resemble The Owl House! :) If you look at my channel, I've been making Owl House content for a while and it's natural for the style to bleed in, haha! Not a bad thing at all.
