Thanks for the wonderful podcast. I think you demonstrated quite clearly that being gay/homosexual is "natural" because you said that you had a crush on a girl before you even knew that homosexuality existed. In that case it's as natural as anything else that humans do i.e. a product of nature PLUS nurture that cannot be disentangled because humans are a social and cultural species. So the second we leave the womb we are being shaped by both. Ig you were gay before you knew what ou were feeling then thats exactly the same as someone who's straight and fancies the opposite gender without even thinking about it.
0:46 disagree men with men can actually do something and this has been for a long time with the Greeks and Romans. Women and women okay yeah that I might agree with on some parts but not entirely.
The emperor cutting his sleeve must have some symbolism, as someone said, he wasn't considered a good emperor, but I have no idea about that. More information on the symbolism is welcome 👍 But now imagine the situation: you're in bed, and can't move because of your sleeve... How can you reach a knife or scissors to cut it? Probably what you would do is get out of the garment, then grab something to cut it and put it back on after cutting it.
This Chinese guy apparently are still narrow minded regarding his own culture. That’s also weird thing in China, different province people can be so different, almost like from different countries. This guy, frankly speaking, not seems like receiving good education or get raised properly by parents.
My mom is chinese raised in Canada but my grandparents was raised in China. My grandparents view are "its not my business" and my mom is quite supportive, but when i lied about not being gay my grandma looked relieved. I guess some people think its fine unless its a close relative.
In my experience in San Francisco as a gay man the blatant animosity and fear that gay Asians (of all ages) have of African Americans is disgusting. Glad this couple is able to talk about both of their experiences and show that these assumptions should be checked and should die out.
In San Francisco? You mean the bastion/the epicenter of liberalism and progressivism and all things good? That can't possibly be true. Everyone in San Francisco is from heaven
Thank you both for the lovely story! It's very touching! I wonder if we have a real community for Asian and Black men to get to know each other? I feel like lots of gay interracial sites are all occupied by whites.
I have to say that the person who made this video understands the Chinese too well. There is a particularly fine line in the video called "don't ask, don't tell", which is our attitude: this is your private business, please do not take it to the public.
I am still desperately searching some resource to prove my Chinese wife that our 17 trans (French) child won't have problems going to see the family in Zhengzhou if he starts his transition soon.
I'm just dying over Mao and Malcom on the background. 😂 Jokes aside,I appreciate that these men are respectful for two important people in their history.
I think the biggest culture shock as an American watching this is that more woman in Chinese culture are likely to be the homophobic ones. A lot of them men seemed to be chill or have a chill passive aggressive response that was not like against it. The women seemed to be the more out spoken homophobic/saying its disgusting and wrong.
younger guys in school and work are the more homophobic ones - this is a rare example. BL dramas and bl manhua are really popular w younger girls right now. Some of the most popular dramas of all time are based off of BL (Boy's Love)
Im a brown skin afrolatino man and ive hung out with a great group of vietnamese men. They showed me the ropes at a gay strip club. I oughta reach out to them.
