All about my (ever so slightly pampered) houseplants and little Urban Backyard Snackyard. With food prices soaring, I'm trying to cram as many fruits and veggies as I can into my small space.
I especially love growing fruits that we can't easily find in our local supermarkets here in England. It's such fun to try new and unusual flavours.
The dream would be to create a Food Forest, but my garden is only little, which is why I call it my Backyard Snackyard.

Hopefully you have the correct soil. It doesn’t like soil. Also, the flowers are cute and all, but it diverts so much energy to grow it the leaves can suffer

It’s the same like mulberries, when it’s cold they grow slower, but bigger ❤ I’ll finish harvesting the first end of this week then I’ve a few weeks rest before the next set then I won’t force them to bear fruits again till Oct so they’ll be sweeter when there’s more sun in winter ❤❤❤ Just too much rain and cloudy these days 😢
@backyardsnackyard
@backyardsnackyard 3 дня назад
That's nice that you can get a little break in between harvests. It's very grey here too...I just managed to get inside before the heavens opened yesterday, then it rained and stormed all day - very Autumnal. At least I didn't need to worry about the garden being watered.
@Handsoffthekids
@Handsoffthekids 4 дня назад
Do you do this only once.
@backyardsnackyard
@backyardsnackyard 3 дня назад
@@Handsoffthekids I tend to do this to all the trusses with open flowers on them every day when I water the plants because the flowers don't all bloom at the same time and I don't want to miss any, but yes, I do think that each little flower only needs to be tapped once.

@backyardsnackyard 4 дня назад
@@Orange_You_Glad that's funny you should ask: I was just looking at it today wondering whether it might fruit next year. It is growing pretty slowly, but it did have a few set-backs: first I put off repotting it for too long, then it got attacked by slugs/snails, but now that it is in a good sized container in a lovely sunny spot, it is looking great. I hope I get to taste the berries soon.
