I HAVE BEEN IN THE WINDOW FILM FOR 30 YEARS -- FOR ALL SHOWER AND BATHROOOM GLASS GO WITH ( LAMINATED GLASS) NOT (TEMPERED) OR INSTALL AT LEAST 7 MILL CLEAR SAFETY WINDOW FILM AND INSTALL IT ON THE OUTER SIDE OF THE GLASS SO YOU CAN CLEAN ON THE INSIDE OF THE GLASS.
Remediating the mold then ripping off the plywood is unnecessary. No professional outside of TV would do that. For instance at my home they had to replace over 20 sheets of plywood due to mold.... every single roofing quote we got said the roofers would just throw on n95 masks, some coveralls, and rip the sheets all off. Sure enough the company we went with did just that. No risk to the guys. Anyone who didn't have PPE stood on the ground away from the action, and they even had us crank up our air cleaners in the house just for our safety. Plus scraping the mold with wire brushes in an enclosed attic? All that'll do is spread the spores.
Thats just sad some contractors need to understand if you cant build a house dont say you can do other areas of work in a home that you know you can can
I'm glad they finally showed the problems with spray foam. Good product but it's difficult to scrape away for renovations. I noticed Mike didn't remove all the spray foam in the garage. It's too much work. They sprayed new foam on top of the old junk.
Another duplicate. Please post new videos, not doubles of ones you've already posted. I appreciate the video's but I'm at the point of unsubscribing due to lack of new video's.
and another house fixed properly! what a awesome job, attention to detail and hard work pays off, now this house is set for years to come! well done mike holmes team!
My Grandfather built the house my Dad grew up in. He did everything, building, electrical, plumbing. Because back then a builder did everything. So my Dad learned a lot about what to look for. Which helped, because he was Navy and we moved a lot. Not everybody has a Dad who can do basic inspections!
Before someone Buy a house or an apartment they should watch Mike Holmes tv shows (other tv shows like Help i wreck My house, Property Brothers, Fixed Upper or Flip Flop) send him a Home inspector does he know then hire a Home inspector and be happy the rest of your life.... 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Sigh. It's Gene Roddenberry's. So they'll love it no matter what. I might too. I'm an ST fan. A dining set that belonged to The Great Bird of The Galaxy? Oh yeah!
No matter what the home inspector will never be held accountable for simple fact your paying im for his opinion u can’t charge someone for the opinion there should have to been in construction for some may years before even able get to be one
Maybe I just don't understand how homes are bought in Canada. Do people see a house listed, decide they want to buy it based on that listing, make an offer, once the offer is accepted hire a home inspector and buy the house based solely on what the home inspector says without ever seeing the house themselves before they close and move in? The lady in the first episode keeps saying "it's obvious", then why didn't you see it and get further inspections and advice? Yeah, the inspector should have seen it and put it in his report. So should have the home buyers.
Getting a home inspection is a misnomer. You are gaining the previous owners headaches, plus your own problems!! The problems come from little communication, between builder / buyer. Canadian code is different from USA CODE AND CANADA FOLLOWS THE BRITISH MONARCHY!!!
"I wanted 5 bedrooms, and a jacuzzi - Am I asking too much?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA". Meanwhile, I'm just over here hoping that I can buy a "fixer-upper" for under $1 million and cross my fingers.
if the selling agent says that if you put in that you are wanting a home inspection as part of the deal that you won't get the house that is a major red flag and you should run as fast and as far from that house as you can!
I wondered what happened to all those houses in the development that Mike endorsed which ended up being demolished for being so horribly built. All those years of building a reputation as being an "honest builder" only to be exposed as being a fraud!! what a shame!!
