I’m on a mission to visit every beach on Cape Breton Island and share my beach reviews with you on RU-vid! Apparently, there are over 80 beaches to discover. This adventure started in 2023 and is continuing this year. I live here in Sydney, Nova Scotia. I travel around in my trusty Toyota 4Runner. Hit Subscribe and follow along!

The board walk did use to have change rooms and bathrooms. There also used to be a walk-through lobster trap. If I remember correctly it’s was built in 94 by the community members. I grew up in the house on the top part of the board walk
Lovely video! My grandmother lived across the street from Min-A-Dieu Beach. I spent a lot of time playing there with my cousins while visiting on family vacations, I was raised in Ontario. I shared your video on my Facebook, and I'm sure we will get an answer as to who built the boardwalk soon. :)
@@CapeBretonBeachLife my Cousin Geneva says the fish plant workers recieved a government grant to build it. She didn't say if it was provincial or federal. Thought I would leave that for you to dig up. 😊
I left CB as a boy and my love of the beaches has never left me. I now live in Alberta and I miss the Atlantic. Virtually every Pacific coast beach is covered with piles of rotting logs from their forest industry. I totally enjoy your videos and I long to return home. Thank you for sharing your beach videos on RU-vid. I like the way you present them. Please make more. Cheers!
Thank you so much, your comment put a smile on my face. It’s nice knowing a little about the people who are seeing these videos. Myself, I grew up living in the Central Interior of BC. Spent my summers swimming in lakes. I was a teenager when my class travelled to Queen Charlotte Islands (today called Haida Gwaii). That was my first time seeing the Pacific Coast. Beautiful, but very different from here. Check back soon - I’ll be posting more videos over the next couple months. Take good care!
I’m looking forward to your next post. I spent a winter in my motorhome in Duncan and another winter in Kelowna. I have also spent many winters in Los Cabos, Mexico on the Sea of Cortes. All said and taken into consideration, Cape Breton is imbedded in my heart. Thanks again for the time and effort put into your videos. 👍
@@CapeBretonBeachLife In case you're interested, we're Americans from eastern New England who transplanted to the midwest about 30 years ago. We have visited CB several times in recent years, mainly for an unspoiled ocean experience. Your videos are a joy to watch -- so beautiful and informative! We hope you continue the series as long as you can.
Hi Wayne! Thanks for your message. It’s really fun to know a bit about who is watching these videos! I have visited New England. As you probably know Nova Scotia sends a Christmas tree to Boston every year as a thank you for Boston's help after the Halifax Explosion. ❤️
Thank you so much! I appreciate the encouraging words. I’m learning lots as I go along. I’m currently editing my next video on Gabarus Beach, so that should uploaded later this week. Thanks again for the comment.
Glad you enjoyed it. I’m trying to edit all the video I took last year … I still have main-a-dieu beach, gabarus sea wall beach and belfry beach. Once those are posted, then I can visit some new places in July and August. Thanks for the comment and thanks for continuing to watch!
Says you. We can agree to disagree. I remember when the power plant did not exist and there was a beautiful swimming spot in its place. Like it or not, its ugly and takes away from a beautiful landscape. The jobs have nothing to do with how it looks.
Very well done video, but a sad story - one of thest beaches in NS, totally neglected by the Province. It would be interesting to know their reasons for the neglect but I doubt we will ever know.
Thank you for the comment! It certainly appears like things are stalled there, but who knows what is happening behind the scenes. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for this beach.
