Hi, I mostly post videos of Cannock on the channel but we do sometimes take the occasional trip somewhere different. If you enjoy the videos, please like and subscribe.
It seems unlikely that Chase Trails and the Forestry commission dont see any of these trails??? They are all over the place. They tend to step in when wooden jumps are created.
I am a regular Chase Off Piste user, and even though its heartbreaking when the "Fascist" commission (Forestry commission) destroy wonderful trails, it can also open up new opportunities for trail builders.,,,, BTW like your videos
Nice video and good showcase of Cannock, Its about 2hr 30 from where I am and maybe I`ll get down there one day. As for the gopro, stopped using mine due to it just cutting out...overheats, too cold...wrong sim card.....not had its breakfast.......blah blah blah...... now gone for DJI.. Looking forward to your next vid
@@Will_MTB DJI is going well so far and I have more confidence in it than the gopro. The tuning settings are as good as gopro and so is the steady cam. The buttons on the gopro are much easier to find and press when on the trail tho. I'm happy with it so far and have no regrets in getting it, like most who switch I did a bit of comparing research before committing as they're not cheap.....
Thanks Will, not expecting full disclosure on YT re location, this look superb. i found the others from your last vid no bother... not sure of the Brocton area start point?
Great video, well edited, well ridden and well commented. Great when it freezes a bit and the trails dry out they do run really well. Look forward to more of your vids in 2024
Hi Will, moved to the area recently so still exploring Cannock fully. Which area is best to find these off piste sections, last time I went did the follow dog loop which was fun in parts but most of it’s quite tame!
The off piste around the monkey loop are pretty easy to find as a lot of them divert off the main trail. If you look at the heatmaps on Strava while you’re in the area they shouldn’t be too hard to find👍
Thanks mate, at the top of the ridge run trail head there is a small path going to the left if you’re looking down the trails. Follow that and keep an eye out to your right and it’s the first track you come across👍
great vid, well narrated, as always. I thought I knew the Monkey side of the Chase well, obvs not. I'm not expecting a GPS location, but those non conifer woods starts have me lost... and look awseome, with all the little drops.. any chance of a vague location as a starter, I'll find my way from there on in. Cheers.
Hi mate, I’m assuming you mean the trail at 0:42… if so it’s down a small path to the left of the ridge run start at stile cop if you are looking down the trail. Ride down the path and keep your eyes peeled for a track on your right. Let me know if it’s a different trail you were after👍
Great riding mate! Some good stuff there! 👍🤙 Theres another section of woods behind the cricket ground that you may want to check out next time if you missed it!
Kilburn Woods on Trailforks www.trailforks.com/region/kilburn-woods If you click on that link it should show you all of the trails at Kilburn and where they are👍
Great Vid Will! Planning a ride up there soon. Whats it like in riding in the wet and what type of soil is it? My local is Surrey Hills but its a bit too soggy atm. Cheers 👍
Hi mate, the soil is sandy and loamy mostly which makes it pretty easy to wash off - still good fun in the wet too. It’s worth keeping in mind that most of the trails in the video are now unrideable now due to forestry works and the one in the thumbnail is completely destroyed unfortunately. The other areas of Cannock are riding well atm though👍
Great video, and as a beginner it will be a while before I tackle something like that lol. It great to see someone being positive about the Chase, all I seem to see on the Facebook groups is people constantly moaning.
The one at 1:50 has a new leg now that you've taken with that gap jump but the trail has been there for a while. Nonetheless it's a great trail. It's called Voodoo People.
Ah cool thanks for the info it’s definitely the best trail I’ve found round that area. Surprised there’s not a few more tracks on that hill though as there’s a decent amount of elevation
I know the one that has a drop just above the fire road need to find the one next to it, I’ve never found Voodoo people but I’ve heard it’s good is it on the same hill?
Nice riding pal. I am riding the chase regularly, sometimes 3 times a week during summer yet somehow I've hardly ridden here. Need to dedicate a visit to stile cop. That push up though...🙄
Easiest was to get there is from the bottom of upper cliff - when you get out onto the fire road turn to your left and then look for the first track going up to the right. Push up there and you will find it👍
@@Will_MTB Iv just realised it was blue spade that i found not green spade after looking at one of your more recent videos, the starts look quite similar.
Great riding dude. My local spot and still not bored of it. Are you using a gopro for your footage? Would be interested to know what settings you are using. Cheers
Hi mate yes I am I use a hero 8. In terms of settings I just use the settings mentioned in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BvVYIKfmpvk.htmlsi=YqjGOiyo9cEePz4o Seem to work a treat👍
