Aiya and akki, What about clinical haematology training for pgim post graduates in US following completing SR period in SL?
@dilu_billy
@dilu_billy Месяц назад
Hi , hematology usually combined with oncology is a 3 year fellowship and It is quite competitive in the USA. They take doctors after a completing a US accredited internal medicine residency. SL clinical experience as a SR will keep you competitive when you apply for the medicine residency or fellowship but it self is not an alternative to USMLES or a residency in US. Its not uncommon for specialist doctors from other countries to start all over from beginning but it's worth after all , hematologist have a good life style and well paid - mostly above 500,000 USD / yr range.

And doctor appreciated if you can tell wil the SLMC make and issue if we fly abroad? And what is the process to get the release form SL and MOH and current have you got the PR or in what category of visa are you currently working. 😊 appreciated if you can do a detailed video on getting clearance from the SL medical areas and if we fly without informing SLMC or MOH will they fine us when we are in active duty on SL
@dilu_billy
@dilu_billy 3 месяца назад
It does not matter to SLMC where you are, you don’t need to inform . If you are in gov sector, you must act according to current circulars etc. Inform the hospital or office responsible and they proceed it to MOH, and then they issue another letter and so on. Depending on current rules ,that I am not aware of. I have heard now doctors can get leave for foreign employment?? Sorry I am not fully aware of current government regulations. Best to ask your seniors.

Thank you so much doctors it is so motivating and inspiring. Most residents in US I know specifically Sri Lankans discourage us and scare us but Dilu and Thili you both are so helpful for our medical students and doctors in SL when you say your visa got rejected many may think you lost hope or give up but you did not but still applied and achieved it is so happy to know you both are so generous, genuine and humble in your life stroy and the part you came as faliers and hardship can teach us many lessons and we learnt from you both that not ti give us on usmle. Its so happy to see to know the island rank as we thought many HO's drop by saying that we are not goof enough to do usmle etc.. but you this example even the last HO in the rank list will have hope so this is a really big blessing for all our medical students. As u both inspire the world of medicine. And did you have any relative, frineds or family in USA when you were landing for the first time in usa to support you all or were you living alone the first time you came to US for the cases and self made you managed to survive in US since it will also inspire and motivated us a lot. Loku pink karanne dennama, koruth sath bawayen wey wage udaw karanne naha so godak watinawa may God Bless you family and continue the momentum and support for our future medicos ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

What about the board certified consultants (MD) in sri lanka, ? Are they eligible to practice their specialty after some kind of traning?
@dilu_billy
@dilu_billy 3 месяца назад
To practice in USA , a physician must undergo residency traning in the specility they desired , no matter how experienced they are.. So even a physician is boad certificatied, they have to go through same traning again as a fresh medical school graduate. Consulants can come for fellowships , but they cannot practice in USA . without residency traning . In USA fresh out of medical school applicants have more chance in matching than a person who has board certification elsewhere
