What is very interesting is that Japanese people definitely recognize who dropped their wallets on the street and return them. In other words, Japanese people can see tourists throwing trash on the floor. Tourists should behave in a way that does not lower the value of their country and show respect for Japan.
Decent Japanese will not steal things even if no one is watching them, because they have been taught by their parents since childhood that they should not do anything wrong because "the sun-god in the sky are always watching you." まともな日本人であれば、誰も見ていなくても物を盗まない。子供の頃から親に「"お天道様 がいつも見ている”から悪いことをしてはいけない」と教えられてきたからです。
I quite recently discovered your YT channel and watched several uploads. I am a Japan aficionado who lived in Japan for many years and from Toronto, ON, Canada. After watching some of your uploads, I thought these people were up to something, but now it is obvious that you are Mormon goons. I have seen so many of them in Toronto. Very ostensibly polite yet with ulterior motives. I really wish that you Mormon goons leave Japan alone.
Japan is honest but dropping a wallet in a crowd is not a good test. You pick up a wallet with 10 people watching you if different vs finding one in the street while you are along (I did at 16 and spent an hour finding the apartment the owner lived in - not a thank you by the way).
