So if I’m running a 16G TDO5H my spring is wrong? I Know my BOV came as green. So wastegate needs to be green? I don’t know much about this. I want the power but it’s my daily driver on the street. Won’t I hurt my engine putting in a yellow spring? My turbo is a ballberring one 400hp Kinggawua on a 4cyl.
bov spring tuning is what this video is about. you spring for bov for hot idle vacuum. waste gate springs do not need to match the bov. gate spring is mainly for the boost you want to run.
they are no longer available from ford (the housing you need) and radiator hoses are easy to get. finding the cross over housing is difficult tho. good luck
Amazing video. I have an 2010 with this setup but i bought the car modded. It is absurdly fun. Got stop techs to alow her to slow down, ford racing coils, 275 fronts with 305 rears. This pony loves eating cats 😂
@@brandonbowers1077 1/2" npt thread is what they used to be. but like i stated, they may have changed that up over the years. i was up there not long ago and seems alot of things like that changed over the years
the on3 stuff works fine, but the tial stuff is a direct swap. just order the bov according to their instructions and spring chart(match to hot idle vacuum)
Running the MBC the "hard" way. That will allow me to add pressure to the top of the spring? Increasing boost? Does the controller still work the same. Plus is more minus is less boost.
@GearheadRob ? I was asking the question. No matter what I do on this on3 kit I either make too much boost or not enough. I put the 6 pound sprung in the gate and can't turn up the boost. Just makes 6 psi. Even with the controller maxed
@@craigbuilt never had luck running to the top unless i was running air. 6psi spring with a proper mbc it should work fine, if plumbed correctly. why i had to cover this very subject over and over. normally after putting the mbc in and having it backed out i normally see around 6.5 psi and then turn it up from there
Hello I just got my on3 kit installed on my 4.8 LS swapped foxbody with 76mm cast turbo. What Tial BOV would you recommend to replace the on3 BOV and what spring should I start with?
follow tials spring chart. hot idle vacuum, reference chart. order the according spring and or bov with that spring in it. only reason for a tial bov would be for the color or if the on3 has failed
@John M I used to cover all this in my install guides. The maf , a plug and play boost a pump. Injectors colder plugs and tune. Stronger clutch and 1 piece driveshaft is recommended
well you have to refer to the tial spring chart...... if you watched the other videos on this subject you would know this. im not here to spoon feed you info.
Hey, just installed boundary billet oil pump and crank sprocket. Is that normal? I did it to my F150 coyote. I got the rattle as well. Sort of sounds like chain but it’s not.
Yeah, this is literally the only video that replicates the sound I’m having on my truck. I was flipping after I heard that. I tore my truck apart and couldn’t find anything wrong. As long as it’s normal I don’t care. Thanks for posting this video, gives me a lot of reassurance. Haha
I have the 78mm on3 turbo with the stock wastegate spring and the car started pushing 20psi of boost on a LS engine. What would’ve causing that. No boost controller hooked up
Not being hooked up properly is yhe main thing. The lower half has 2 fitting holes. Make sure the plug is in one. Make sure the top port is vented. And one vacuum hose running from the bottom of the gate to intake vacuum/boost. Then you should be make only gate pressure. Don't hook it to yhe turbo inlet housing like everyone says.. shits never worked right on this stuff.
I am very close to pulling the trigger on this kit, I already a billet wheel t6 Borg s475 so I'll have to change the flange Hopefully thers not alot of stuff that will have to be wriggled around . I found a 05 gt auto car with 102,793 miles I'm not a ford buy but I like a challenge the goal is to make a 6.00 1/8 pass with a unopened 3 valve at around 3300 pounds . Its actually a really nice car super clean under the hood, body and interior. I've already bought one of jegs sheetmetal intake for it and already have a set of Bosch 210s laying around its definitely gonna be on ignite red e90 or pump e85 if the ethanol content stays up where it should be Hell I been thinking about putting a 10 cell in the trunk and a drop in fuel 525 pumps and run the whore on methanol I made the swap to meth and ditched the e90 2 years ago on my turbo Camaro Camaro should have did it sooner. But the car is gonna get some bmr upper and lower control arms strange double adjustables and a few other pieces a set of 4.10 gears I got for 50 bucks. I already have a leash boost controller from my Camaro before I went Holley efi and co2 for the boost controller for now its getting tuned with hp tuners but when the 3 valve decides kicks the rods its getting a pretty stout forged rods and pistons ls2 and some Holley in its life with a big boy turbo some where between a Borg s485 or 91mm and a whole now kit lol and a th400 and have a really quick street car its been a while since I've had fast street car that's not a pain in the ass to drive I really miss that Your vids are the best ones ibe seen about these kits!
turbo cars do not like 4.10 gears at all, a large frame t6 like that will not spool up without help. this 3v car in this video is a stone stock 07gt, clutch driveshaft, on3 kit with 67mm upgrade , hot side wrapped. boost a pump , injectors maf and tune. peaks 9 to 10psi, runs the traps at just the top of 3rd gear going 11.00s , on pump gas. its been together now for 8 plus years and the owner drives it harder then you would a cheap hooker. good luck with what your trying to do.
Thanks for the video it helped so much the instructions with the kit were not the best. Now I am having a real hard time finding someone to tune my car i had it at a shop but after they could not get the tune right they let it sit for like 5 months so I brought it home. If anyone knows a good mustang shop in Maryland it would be much appreciated.
You’re running wastegate reference to the vacuum block? If so Why would you run the waste gate to a vacuum block instead of the compressor housing? I wastegate should have vacuum on it at any point.
this setup had upper and lower arms, drive shaft shifter and clutch done first, then once the clutch was cycled the turbo kit went on with the 67mm upgrade and had a custom tune done. and also some gauge in a spped or sound pod and a custom cutout setup i i think covered in another video
I have a 06 3v mustang and I got the BMF New turbo ordering the rest of the piping for it end of the Month I got slimmer fan for it I’m hoping it fits no problem with the kit
FORE INNNOVATIONNNNNNNNNN!!!!! On3 is trash quality, no offence! It’s a good budget thing! I have a on3 hot and cold side stuff that’s it nothing else, purchased a twin turbo kit minus all there turbos and fuel stuff..... I went with fore return system dual pump 10an in 8an out and went with precision turbos! My new edge is almost done now, but I kinda wish I well to with cgfab stuff but still car makes over 1500hp when blasted up all the way, but I don’t do that since I don’t have a billet crankshaft lol.
Could there be issues with vaccum using too small of a diameter hose on the vacuum block? What's the smallest diameter size vaccum hose that you reccomend using?
