Hi! Great Video as always. Just wondering, could it work on a VW Polo 9n? (pre-restyling) The fact is, apparently it does not have CAN bus out of the OBD2 port, but instead it relies on a CAN Gateway (?) correct me if I'm wrong, but it should have CAN bus implemented inside, but just not available directly to the OBD2 port. In that case, could it be possible to tap into the CAN bus line from the CAN Gateway? thanks a lot.
I have nebular 583 wondering how can I port this firmware to it. I was able to flash it but led and screen are not working. In the src I didnt find anything related to the screen resolution or something.
It is not true. For the nebular series with size >= 4.2 inch, you can use heat gun and good suction cup to peel the front cover. The battery can be replaced by 3.7 lipo rechargeables
@@atc1441 Fair point, I couldn't source the same battery as well but I doubt if there is going to be any issue if a lipo is charged to around 3.4 and used as a disposable battery. FYI There are two batteries inside so you would have to make one more hole in the back.
I have the Heltec E213 and E290 wireless paper displays with LoRA. However using with Meshtastic. I am keen to see how this can be combined. Maybe using an E290 as an AP
There are a way to get notifications from the phone to the ring? The ring has screen and vibration module so it can be with only screen or only vibration or both, the thing is receive the notifications..
i have taken one of these apart, for mine the bubble is just using touch input with single isolated pcb pad, and the reset button is a microswitch the micro controller is made by JL like the bluetooth speakers used which make sense
How does the bubble came back to its shape, like bloat, when reset, some air pressure or what. You can press with fingers, but how they come back to its original up position?
When you compress springs on the part that you push from the back there are individual rods that come forward to push each bubble back out. That is why there is a hole in the PCB for each button, the push rods come through the board to "unpop" the bubbles.

Would the board be able handle any eink display? Sorry if that's obvious. I plan to buy a similar case to teardown and make a keychain with a smaller 1-2 inch eink display.
Awesome! Thank you very much. I considered buying the Nuki Opener, but they discontinued the support for TCS Intercoms. Then I found the Shelly Uni on the Web, which has a Smartphone app and lets you control various electrical devices. Your work will help me a lot to get my intercom smart again, and it will be way cheaper than the Nuki Opener.
Thank you for the video! I didn't imagine this beeing this small, i wonder how small is the more expensive one. I would like to recreate this plate and add some leds and more settings but i cannot find a schematic:)))
Hi Aaron, a good work your custom firmware. I’ve here version B1.5. Does your firmware also fit to this? Is there also an Android App for my mobile who works together with your firmware? An app who shows more than one Sensor on one screen would be great.
Hi Aaron, can you make a video about what you can do with the displays? I have a AP and some Displays 2,9 and 3,5 inch the only thing i found it useful; for is for the weather. rss is to small url image don't work that good, Json template is complicated to work with, i like to get the bitcoin price or the gold rate on my openepaperdisplay. thanks and ceep up the good work
Hi sir , i have P4 RGB 80x40 10 mod scan matrix.. i had tried to many programs and made self running function using for loop.. i am just focusing on 7 color using RGB 000 to 111 i am using buffer[160][20][1] , also mapped zigzag rows. But my data transfer is slow because of using for loop to set data RGB . I want to add more displays can you please guide me about it?
I have Nebular 290R-N in my hand. I've cut plastics on the back and found debug pins. But how to port OpenEP for it? lut and etc. please, share the knowledge)
It would be interesting if the 3 pads needed could be targeted with a 3d printed drill jig! But the user would still need an accurate pogo setup to go along with that. Being able to seal it all back up with a strip of tape, would be very clean though. Also I've found that many USB-C irons and hotplates float the tip to 1/2 of mains because of XY capacitors inside the charger, if your circuit being soldered is grounded, that's getting shunted into each I/O pin possibly. On my MHP30 I realized it because it had a 'texture' that you could only feel when it was plugged in, DMM confirmed why! Does it on every 60W PD-Charger I've tried. Can light LED's in series that are only touching your skin and the plate.. etc. Best way I fixed it was clipping a grounded lead on the USB shield. Just be aware it's often there, and can push current into sensitive things.
