Plaza República is the first Plaza in the video, in front of the Cathedral. The second Plaza where you see the giant statue from Carnival is Plaza Machado, with the colorful buildings and restaurants surrounding the plaza. However, it is a very good video with a good effort to show the old part of the city and the culture! Thank you from a native Mazatleco!! ❤
Thanks for the video tour of Mazatlan. My answer to the last question: NO! I have visited three times, in a span of thirty years, with the last visit about seven years ago. Wow, the overdevelopment is completely out of control. Not only does diminish the view but it also adds to the chaotic noise level. Another 😢destination is off my list. That being said, I would definitely return to some of the small nearby towns and take trips up into the Sierra Madre Occidental -when it becomes more secure.
Really good video, you showed some areas and things I did not know were in Mazatlan. It gave us some good ideas of places to go to when we go to Mazatlan next week for the eclipse.
You got them reversed, the one at the beginning is Plazuela Republica, and there is no Machado market, the market close to that plazuela is Mercado Pinozuarez. That is the current center of Mazatlán. Plazuela Machado is the second one, located in historic center, a few blocks from Plazuela Republica.
With the exception of the night video and obviously the drone video I used the GoPro on everything else. Later I'm going to message you because I have a question about it. -Marc
Excellent video you guys. Top notch. I've neen there but I learned a lot. And I agree with both of you. It's a nice city, I'm glad I saw it, but I dont need to see it again. It's a one and done kinda place for me.
Great video footage! I am glad you enjoyed Mazatlan! Too bad we showed up and you both were leaving! We love Mazatlan and all the "zones" haha! But you did miss out on Stone island. Take care!
If we were to go back we would stay in the older part of Mazatlan just because we think that area is beautiful. If you like to shop and great restaurants /bars then I would say the Golden zone. -Marc
