Fantastic teaching style. Love it. I've been thinking of having a go at turning for quite some time, and this lady is the best teacher I've come across on You Tube. Personally, I didn't like the filler music, but eveything else is great.
I can see a 13 inch shallow bowl with red metalflake as a band on the inside. I think I'll do one in spalted Maple. I can see me throwing my keys and mail into it ,now.
Hello Emma. I really enjoyed watching your vid. Your skills are awesome. Thanks so much for sharing. Kind regards, David, Beachmere, Brisbane, Australia
Tina, you said because you’re short you get shavings in your face. I have turner friends who elevate themselves with a platform to get above the workspace. Why don’t you do that? It’s just a few lengths of wall framing timbers and some 12 mil plywood. Not very expensive.
Hi Simon great video and vase . Could you tell me if the Pewter would be suitable for melting into the base of a candlestick ? Ive turned some Elm and have attached a short length of aluminium tube to hold the candle . However the superglue I used to attach the tube burnt as the candle guttered out . Want to pour some molten metal into the base to secure it but something the candle heat won't remelt . Thanks Jim.
That is an excellent piece, looks superb. May I ask where did you buy the pewter ingots, I am in UK. Also, hopefully by the end of the year I will be making another visit to Hope woodturning, this time to buy the MIDI PRO lathe😊
Thanks it’s good to see those tools in use I have same of your chisels and handles which I like very good teaching on hollowing thanks again Robert I’m in NZ
The super glue soaks into the wood and strengthens the threads and keeps them from chipping off, not all woods require this treatment, dense hardwoods like ebony, padauk , cocobolo and rosewood for instance usually don’t need this treatment.
Emma, you’ve done it again. I’m still trying to master the bloody Gonks and now I’ll have to try and make a flipping Easter egg. I’m going to have to ban myself from you tube . I can see me running out of pigments soon so I hope you post them to Australia.
I like the smaller cupcake top more of the 2. The projects you make are always intersting, I like seeing the ideas and techniques of other turners. Your website isn't translating so I can't really understand anything but that could just be the computer I am on right now.
