I remember after finishing Odyssey after finishing all of the side quests, unexplored areas (the ? on the map everywhere), the main quests, the cultist quests, the atlantis quests, both dlcs, and when I was finished I returned back home to Kephallonia, and I walked to the house where you started the game, i climbed to the roof and finally looked at the aegean one last time.
Rogue is legit the best ac game and calling it a bad story just kinda shows you never picked up on the nuances of how the assassins and Templar’s don’t care about random innocents, only themselves, while the templars have actively made strides to protect civilians from the assassins.
parkour in ac 3 doesn't have less depth than previous games. The game fails to teach the intricate mechanics of this new system, also a lot of parkour mechanics are hidden in the game that are not mentioned anywhere. while it might feel different from previous entries it has it's own depth when it comes to movements. where it takes away some options from the previous entries it also adds several new options to make up for it.
I picked it up with the expansions on sale and I've been enjoying it for what it is. I like vikings and the mystique of them and the AC franchise lore.
The "Assassin's Creed" series has garnered acclaim for various strengths across its installments. The original "Assassin's Creed" introduced a unique blend of historical fiction and parkour-based gameplay, immersing players in the Crusades era. "Assassin's Creed II" refined mechanics and storytelling, offering a rich Renaissance setting and a charismatic protagonist, Ezio Auditore. Subsequent titles, like "Black Flag," expanded the scope with naval exploration, while "Unity" showcased stunning visuals and detailed reconstructions of Paris during the French Revolution. "Origins" and "Odyssey" revitalized the series with RPG elements and expansive open-worlds set in Ancient Egypt and Greece, respectively. "Valhalla" continued this trend, providing a captivating Viking experience. Across all games, the series is celebrated for its intricate historical settings, engaging storylines, and innovative gameplay mechanics, ensuring each entry adds something valuable to the franchise. I'm currently playing Valhalla for the first time. I spent a little over 10 hours and I just now finished the Cambridge section. I think the story drags a little too much but I'm enjoying the settlement building and mechanics so far. I'm not even close to be done with the game but I would give it a 6,5/10 so far. I'll keep pushing and might change this rating later on
