MERV will be proud of his new home guys looks absolutely gorgeous , a very educational episode on the electrical setup along with every thing else cheers Guys 😀
Just take it back to the paint place if you don’t like it. I work in a paint department and we switch out colors no problem. Just bring the product in and exchange it for a color choice you love!
You definitely don't want a wooden-framed caravan if you are going to travel far or often on Australian roads. Viscount Caravans are the right choice for extended travel in Australia. At least they were back when these caravans were built. I can't comment on today's brands or builds. I really don't know about them.
I love the Viscount range of caravans. 💖💖💖 I lived in a "27 footer" Viscount caravan many years ago. Someone mentioned the cardboard box method of trying out the layout for liveability. Your entry might possibly be awkward for bringing items in if it is too cluttered. Sometimes a few extra inches can make all the difference. I do love what you are doing by renovating Myrtle and giving her a new lease on life. 😀 An "island" bed is much easier for sleeping in and bedmaking. The larger fridge will be a blessing. You won't regret including a shower/toilet cubicle. It is so unpleasant to be sick for anyone in the middle of the night and have nothing but a bucket to resort to. I'm not sure why you will need to slide the toilet out of the way, just sit on it in the shower. The toilet paper will need a cover to prevent steam from dampening it. All the overhead cupboards taking advantage of all the space for storage was so brilliant in the old Viscount Caravans. If you can manage to do that it would be so useful, and remember the door fasteners are important when travelling to stop spillage. Air conditioning will be a blessing and the old fashioned air vents in the roof were there for good reasons. Mould can be an issue if you don't keep good ventilation. We had two large screened vents and one smaller one in the roof centre of the caravan. Proper wire mess screens are best for keeping out vermin. Some areas are prone to this. The cheaper screens can be eaten through. We also had the high rise roof that gradually sloped towards the back. Beautiful Caravan it was (fond memories). It also had a sliding glass door for the entry. I would prefer a solid door for more security these days. Adding an annex gives extra living space for seating if you have more visitors than can fit at your table and lends a bit of privacy. Anyway, that is enough for now. All the best. 😀
@@itsJackandMegan slow and steady til you get the feel it. Speed will come with practice. But do you though, I understand not everyone has the time to learn everything. If you did the proper prep and had a clean surface you will be good.
We have a compressor fridge with vents on the inside of our fully offroad van. I have thought about adding a lockable outside vent for those 40+ days but it's good enough with 3 inside vents. There are instructions re venting . Love our do35 hitch . Mertle looks amazing well done. See you on the road. Just left James Price Point near Broome, weather is perfect and so many whales atm. See ya on the road
Incredible job, I just saw this post, I am a mechanic of course I am months behind in viewing this but in the future if you have any problems with rusty seized nuts and bolts the best thing to use is PB Blaster! Works great on stubborn nuts and bolts that won’t budge. 😜 What a great thing you both did surprising your Dad, and to see new life you brought back into that classic beauty!
That looks fantastic and you painted it outdoors which is against everything professional auto painters would do BUT, against all odds you pulled it off and it really looks like a pro job!
Wow I've just discovered your channel and the work your doing on the caravan, well this video... Myrtle looks amazing... I just bought myself a Viscount 1975 guttd for $300 and in the process of renovating her in memory of my darling late husband, Brent... She is going to be named the Brent Deluxe... to see you's paint her and you's are in WA... I'm towards your way from Qld, in outback Charleville. Brent used to live in WA. He always wantd to take me there... so good on you guys for giving me the inspiration to keep going... off to binge watch the other vids now... proud of you guys... keep smiling always
Colours are great, no idea why you had doubts. Myrtle does, however, need a red stripe to complete the homage to the greatest flag in the world (Wales). 🏴Congrats on such a great job.
