I'd love to know the name of the instrument that was featured in Abba's instrumental tune: 'Arrival'. I don't know it it was Swedish but I got the impression it was: lovely sound from it.
Interesting exercise ! 14/20 My excuse is that I'm French, so not that used to hearing nyckelharpa. (Hidden message: please come to France and play polska. I love it so much, music and dance. The deep sound of nyckelharpa is just awesome.)
Il y a une belle scène de nyckelharpa et musique scandinave en France =) Un bon point de départ est le CMTN (Connaissance des Musiques Traditionnelles Nordiques) par exemple.
Sounds reeeaally good for its age, right ? =D Big thanks to Tino Mixan in Vienna (Austria) to let me play on one of the very few nyckelharpas by Bohlin still existing !
I can assure you, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that nobody has ever told me ANYTHING about nyckelharpa. Not that I wouldn't want to know. The topic does not come up often
Excellent! I recognize this one! I've been throat singing for a decade and have recently been taught by Soriah, a local who sings professionally and has won competitions back in Tuva
This is absolutely beautiful, I didn’t knew this instrument and it’s totally mind blowing !!! Keep on playing, this instrument is a treasure and your way to play too, keep both preciously ❤
In short : - Polskas are in 3/4 and in-between 90 and 130 BPM. - Polkas are in 4/4 and go at 120+ BPM. They also have a very "jumpy" feeling that polskas don't have.
I have a special relationship with nyckelharpa thanks to my old classmate Åsa Jinder, who was made an official Swedish national player of nyckelharpa at the amazing age of 14... Her father also was one of the renowned builders of the instrument (Curt Einar Jinder, if I recall correctly)... ...Time flies, memory limps... Also a very big fan of Tuvan music, EPI Enkhjargal Dandarvanschig This piece, so beautiful! Per aspera ad astra ars longa vita brevis
Hejsan från Finland! Thank you for this informative video. I probably won't ever need to know these things but it was nice listening you tell them anyway. '^^ And who knows, maybe I'll start designing and selling proper cases and/or microphones for these one day. :P
The original version contains a quadruple time (4/4), in the B part. Which was later removed when Burträskarna recorded it and named it "Stenselepolskan". The original is from Sören Johansson.
Slängpolska från Mörkö! Anders Gustaf Andersson. Du spelar den på nyckelharpa i videon ned. Olof Andersson uppteckningar no. 659. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t5KY_vb5KAE.htmlsi=zvhCORpRoe_B7g95
