Hi, I recently applied for a similar job patient care coordinator for a ENT medical office. The duties seem to all align with the position you are in. I was searching on youtube and came across your video. It's been two years so I doubt you will respond but I wanted to ask you a couple of questions. My previous experience has been in nursing homes and hospitals as a cna. Then I became a receptionist for a nail salon and really loved it. I know being a medical front desk person entails a lot more work. My experience is low but I wanted to know if you had experience prior to getting this job? How long it took you to get the hang of dealing with the insurance and how you made a good impression in your interview?
@taylortrevino9191

Had no prior experience and since the job is very repetitive it took about 2 weeks to get the hang of everything. Hope this helps, and good luck 🍀👍

I did a medical receptionist course which was helpful in getting a job in this field but I also had some pathology experience. I kept an eye on job ads where the same clinics were advertising positions every 3 months where staff kept leaving and got a job at one of them because they knew I wanted something long term.

If you work at a hospital you can pick up extra shifts as a secretary and gain experience there. Add the experience to your resume. Then, apply for medical administrative assistant jobs.

I'd love to familiarize myself with the computer systems before i head into this positive, so that im not overwhelmed right away. Is there any systems or templates i could download in order to familiarize myself? I have zero experience but the position has a high turnover rate cause so many become overwhelmed. I want to stay in the medical field and progress. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! My husband just lost his job. Taxes took all our savings. I really need this job and i really need to do well. Prayers are also appreciated! 🙏 😅❤

I am hatin right now because that is a VERY SLOW and LOW VOLUME office!!! Keep in mind ya’ll that every office does not run the same way, some offices (like mine) get SLAMMED with patients ALL DAY LONG. I mean, 6-7 at a time in 30-45 min intervals on a good day!!! Now, 6-7 patients coming in at once with a front desk staff varying between 5-7 a day may sound like a piece of cake, BUT, there are many other factors (too many to list here) that usually make those 6-7 patients who just walked in, seem like 20 patients. Again, there’s not enough space in this comment section to exhaust all of the variables that come with a front desk position.

Love your videos!! Seems like people who actually show legit working videos and go out of their way to show us a realistic day and a life have fewer subscribers. While those that show a more luxurious lifestyle and only a few seconds of them sitting at the computer with music playing have the most followers. So for that I subscribed. Thank you for you genuineness. And you seem very nice to the patients although I know they can be a headache at times. I do partially of what you do but its virtual only and I try to always shout out the ones that go above and beyond to give excellent service. God bless you and may your channel continue to grow tremendously.

Hi, I have some questions. What do you do if you feel stressed while working? What stress techniques helped you? How do you handle angry clients in person and on phone?
@MiguelEnriqueCVeluz
@MiguelEnriqueCVeluz 11 месяцев назад
Firstly, breathe. Deep breaths, inhale through the nose, out through your pursed lips. There will be times you'll be super stressed, and that's okay. Take it in one step at a time. Do things one at a time. When good things happen, write a note in your little notebook, so when there comes a time you get met with an upsetting situation, you can look back at your notes and realize that you've had so many good moments before that one bad moment.
@MiguelEnriqueCVeluz
@MiguelEnriqueCVeluz 11 месяцев назад
To deal with angry clients, many of them are angry because they don't know what they're up against, or because they felt like they're not being heard. So make sure you give them your full attention, express to them that you're listening and that you're on their side. If they ramble on, don't cut them off. Let them talk and say things like "Mhm... mhm... oh really?! Is that so? Okay! I'm sorry to hear that...," so they understand that you're listening. Then don't just toss them your office policies. Explain to them why you have those policies and why it's not possible to get things done exactly the way they want them done. Always express that you're there to help them.

6:48 a little feedback, when u were on this call with the lady to get her insurance info I could hear her speaking and giving out her information over the phone. Idk if the phone was too loud or she was speaking too loud but that’s violates her privacy, etc. could’ve muted the audio there when she gave that info out.
